Games you thought deserved a sequel or another entry?

If you wanna compare it to advance sure, but its called *7* and *XX*, X is the best one alongside 3 so I had hefty expectations
In the end I found it so forgettable, nothing to call its own meh bosses..
At least 4 had the monkey transformation, XX had nothing, even after finishing it many times it just made me wish I was playing any other MS

I forgot about 4's transfo but this felt a bit anticlimatic after 3's ending.

Anyway I deeply regret how 5 got rushed and unfinished because the Ptolemaic army had a great potential and the story felt darker as well as being the tail end of the timeline.

XX was a name to make a nod to X but it was 7 bis like X being 2 bis. I do wish we got more levels in XX.

Even if its slightly worse than 2 it means it's slightly worse than amazing, its criminal how Klonoa has 8 games but no K3
Also I'd just really like a new 2.5D game, actual 2.5D where it uses the fact its in 3d and its like you're moving across a diorama.

I'd take anything as long as the gameplay and story are good.

I'm genuinely surprised we didn't see a PSP or DS entry in the style of the first two GBA games and the Wonderswan one.

3D Klonoa would require a full rework of the air bullet imo. Rayman and Kirby managed so Klonoa could but I think this would feel too different and people would prefer something like the first two.

Yeah 5 was shake it but to me it felt like a spin off.

Like Master of Disguise? Anyway, I wish they made the VB one available.

Warioland and Warioware coexisted so there's no reasons they couldn't still have more games in both way.

4 is terrible compared to the first 3; everything was recycled, bland levels, bland final boss.. my point was that at least it had one memorable thing about it unlike 7 and XX

The "we dont wanna do iterative sequel" excuse is bs with all the bland new super mario bros sequels, sport game spin offs and mario partys (and star fox zero being a pseudo remake)
They could easily hand it to another studio like they did with metroid, but for whatver reason they just wanna sit on it I guess

I think that sadly the "innovation" excuse was also because Miyamoto wants to create something new each time (like with Pikmin) but does not always know how to improve an already established formula.

See how every Starfox games after 64 are not made by Nintendo and that F-zero GX which was fundamentally like X was made by Amusement Vision instead of EAD.

Mario being the flagship franchise next to Zelda allowed more games with less changes whereas a niche like the others would have them take more time for the formula.

Quake 1 is cool yeah. Unfortunately id Software and Bethesda think that Quake = "Must be a multiplayer Online Arena FPS only" despite that Quake II and 4 also exist.


I feel that Blood 2 killed the franchise (like how we won't ever see a Duke 5).

They screwed up big time trying to go a different direction with Apollo Justice.

Hot take, I love the bold direction that game took and is my favorite of the series.

I felt it should have gotten at least one direct sequel. I'd loved to see more of chad Phoenix, more bonding between Apollo and Trucy and more of that suspenseful vibe.

Not that I don't like Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice, but Apollo has 3 fucking backstories by now.

Phantasy Star ( not the online game series)

I'll be honest there but it may be better that Sega doesn't touch classic Phantasy Star. And even Online (the first game that started on the Dreamcast not the franchise) as a remaster would make me cautious as well considering how NGS is.

I don't even consider PSU nor PSO2/NGS to be part of the same series as the first Online at this point, it only carried the name "Online" for nostalgia's sake.

I know an anime is coming, and I hope it's good, but I wish we could get something along the lines of a prequel to Dante and Vergil... maybe something called Devil May Cry 0 where we follow the story of Sparda?
