Are there specific games you prefer playing on PCSX2 for any particular reasons?

For me, it would be Dragon Quest VIII, as characters are quite pixelated on the PS2. Even though I stick to original hardware for the majority of my games, I find that generally, cartoony/cel-shaded games look better on the emulator with some minor settings adjustments.

nah I don't like tinkering with emulators. If its a system I own I'll just play on that for convenience. Upresing on PCSX2 is a neat gimmick but if I'm gonna sit down and play through the game I just want it on native settings. In a lot of games it can introduce some weird visual artifacts and glitches like the off centred auras in some of the DBZ games.

All of them for the simplest reason ever

Pretty much any rare & expensive I can't afford (Persona 3 FES), games made better with undubs (Yakuza 1) or that are only available via fan translation (that one I don't really have an example off the top of my head ::sailor-embarrassed)

all 3d games games basically as upping the resolution and blending options gives superior picture quality compared to the PS2

Only games that have few save points or turn-based combat that takes much longer than it should into every fight.
Or games with loooooooooooong loading times.
Also, some games that in my experience look much better, and make good games great games, like Automodelista. That game is already beautiful on the original hardware, but it's brutal when you can play it on a 1440p display at 60 fps.

All of them. I don't want a bunch of stuff laying around and the emulation is good enough that it gets the job done. I know someone will cruise in and go, "but but the compatibility with Shikigaki no Chosenko XIV doesn't have correct transparencies" or something but I don't care. I play for an escape, not to turn it into a spot the difference puzzle.

Absolutely all of them.

The native PS2 resolution is a joke by current standards and looks terrible.

There's nothing like enjoying a great classic game with multiplied resolution, other graphic enhancements, maybe unlocked FPS and widescreen patches, savestates, texture packs and more, even mods and Reshade for the emulator.

i only play with pcsx2 lmao it does a perfectly fine job for the games i want to play and i dont have to buy consoles, video adapters, memory cards, etc.
