Games You Finished in 2025

The combat/junction mechanics are really fun once you get used to it. My only complaint is it's a little too easy to break the game with it. Also Triple Triad is really fun it's just tough to get started since your starting cards suck. Final Fantasy 8 in general can be a little awkward starting out because of all the different new mechanics so I wonder if that's why a lot of people didn't like it. I only have the final boss left since I recently beat Omega Weapon. I heard Ultimecia can be tough too.
Hi King

I agree. It can be a real challenge at times. Especially towards the end like most games. You've come pretty far that game, I'm sure you'll finish it without too much difficulty.

Here is my backloggd's list
My favorite so far is Klonoa: Door to Phantomile
Did you finish Mario Bros. the normal way or the shortcut way?

I am trying to finish it without any shortcuts, going through every level, and it's a giant pain in the ass because a few of the later sections have some places I always run out of lives and have to start at the beginning again. It's a tough game to play normally, even if it's short.

1. Mad Max (PS4, played on PS5)
2. RetroRealms: Halloween/Ash Vs Evil Dead (Switch)
3. Akimbot (PC, Steam)

Giving Doom 2016 only 6/10 hurts my soul

Unfortunately, but for me, DOOM of 2016 doesn't deserve more. With the original Doom and 2, as well as Doom RPG and 3, I had a great time, and here.... well there is some fun, but the game is not as good as the previous parts.
Plot - while the plot was practically non-existent in the original and Doom 2, and it was not badly handled in Doom 3, the plot of the Doom reboot simply bores me. They try to do something with the footage, but it just pushes the story further - the plot in singleplayer mode doesn't engage the player at all. The Doom guy has ceased to be a marine and has become, from what I understand, something like a deity (or undead demon) awakened from some sarcophagus....
And then there's the need to upgrade armour and weapons and how this was implemented.... It's Doom, there should be no upgrades other than unlocking new weapons.

Since my last post in january I finished:
4. Harvester
5. Popol Maya
6. HoMM3: Shadow of Death
7. Spaceship Warlock
8. Knights of the Round
9. Neverwinter Nights 2
10. The 7th Guest
11. NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer

But now I am kinda lost about what to play next as I really don't feel like starting NWN2: Storm of Zehir immediately and the weekend is nearly over

Finished Mario & Luigi Brothership. Despite all the things I've heard from reviews of the game, I honestly really loved this game. Like I don't think it's better than Bowser's Inside Story, but I think what the series desperately needed was a return to form after a few lackluster games and especially after Alphadream being closed down, and I think Brothership really did that well.

One of the biggest positives especially with how I am right now is that it constantly kept my attention. Like I often found myself needing to actually go charge my Switch becuase it was at low battery because I was having so much fun and not paying attention.

So yeah, highly recommended.

Pseudoregalia, the best 3D platformer I've played, since A Hat In Time.

And I need more of it! Someone mod all Super Mario levels, just so I could play them in Pseudoregalia.

I've been on a Sonic binge since watching the movies with my nephew since I stopped caring about Sonic after Adventure on the Dreamcast. The only non-Sonic games I finished so far this year were a couple of visual novels. (Never 7 and Paranormasight)

Sonic games I finished so far:

Sonic Adventure 1 and 2
Sonic Advance 1 and 2
Sonic Heroes
Shadow the Hedgehog
Sonic Rush
Sonic The Hedgehog (2006)
Sonic Unleashed

I just beat Undertale for the first time. I know, I'm late. Even weirder, I've played Mother 2 and 3 probably a dozen times each (and modestly beaten Mother 1 like twice), I love those games dearly. I played Chulip and later Moon RMX, I adore Yume Nikki, and yet I'VE NEVER PLAYED UNDERTALE.
Until now.
I picked it up at the suggestion of my brother and beat it in less than a week. What a game. It so accurately replicates the atmosphere of all the late-90s JAG's I love so much, and continued to hold my attention with its incredible story.
What a game. What an ending. What an adventure.
No crying until the end.

Finished Doom 2016. Really good. I only REALLY got into the series a few years back, beating the 1, 2, 3 and 64. When I saw Doom 2016 on a very generous sale I just had to give it a try. And it was absolutely worth it, most fun I've had in a while.

I finished the story mode of Naruto Clash of Ninja 2.

It's my bf's fault for playing this game, but outside of some of the fights in story mode, it's fun to goof around in.

Until now I've beated dragon quest 3(snes), pokemon platinum, castlevania order of ecclesia and today i beated the Johto part of pokemon SoulSilver
