Is it because of its peculiar humor that can no longer be replicated for various reasons, The time we live in, or because it can only be done by a specific team/director that is no longer available today? My bets (unfortunately) for this are:
God Hand
Chrono trigger
Most of the Naughty Dog franchises that aren't named "The Last of Us"
Rayman

Bloodborne, but I also don't want it to get one. Always said that it's perfect as is, and present-day From Software would probably just turn it into a derivative mash-fest if Elden Ring is anything to go, by compared to the slower than ER, but still quick and evenly paced dance-like feel that Bloodborne's combat still evokes. (Elden Ring is still fun, put your pitchforks down)

Arguably Dragon Quest. 12 is most definitely still coming out despite it taking fourteen lifetimes for it, but Horii's likely gonna croak soon, and if he, Toriyama and Sugiyama would all be gone I feel it'd just start feeling derivative and empty. Horii especially since he's the scenario writer. But I could always be proven wrong.

A Castlevania sequel that tells the tale of Dracula's final demise in 1999.

I dreamt of playing that game for a long time, but at this point, with Iga no longer at Konami and the distance between the last Soma Cruz game and now, only the most diehard of diehard fans would even care.

Rayman, basically because no one cares.
Warcraft, the rts, I still want to play a Warcraft 4 game.
Prince of Persia.

You mean the original Prince of Persia?
Because the franchise itself got two new games not so long ago.

God Hand
Rayman
At least we got MadWorld and Anarchy Reigns as good spiritual successors. Rayman Legends is the peak of the franchise, and I doubt it would be any better with the way Ubisoft is now.

Prince of Persia.
About that....

Shadows of the Damned could've used a sequel, but Travis Strikes Again technically finishes Garcia and Johnson's story, but most of it happened off-screen and you're only seeing/discovering the aftermath.

That new 3D Streets of Rage title ain't happening anytime soon. Might as well stick with SOR4, or The Takeover 2.

Play Bulletstorm. It's even better. That's not getting a sequel either.

Haven't played that one, is it similar to Wild-9?
Other than a blue electric leash, not really. Think of it as a cross between W9, Duke Nukem and an FPS version of MadWorld. Steve Blum even voices the main character, Grayson. The game is available on most consoles. I recommend just getting the Full Clip Edition on Steam/PC, or 8th-9th gen consoles.

Megaman Legends 3. Because at this point, i genuinely don't know how that game would look like. The 3DS seemed like the perfect platform for it, but it had to be canceled. Only the hardcore Megaman fans still care about it, and i highly doubt Capcom would take such a financial risk. Heck, they put even Star Force on a collection but not poor Legends. We were doomed from the start.

They built up for it for so long and it ended up never happening. Makes me sad.

Actually that may be possible now.

Belmont's Curse so happens to take place in 1499, literally 500 years before the 1999 game, and it is implied we may get more Castlevania-related announcements for the 40th anniversary.

Still unlikely, but compared to everything else mentioned, it is on the table as CV is alive again.

Honestly, that event always felt like an off-screen moment of awesome and no actual on-screen depiction could match most fans expectations . I was never obsessed with the DS Castlevania games much, so it was never a big loss for me.

Can't say i disagree. Everything i've read about the 1999 war makes it seem like it should be the best game in the series by far, so it had pretty huge shoes to fill. I mean, we're talking about the definitive defeat of the big bad of the series. If the game happened and turned out to just be alright, it would be very dissapointing.
