Games that you regret not playing earlier?

Mordhau. I got it like, 3 months before the crossplay update and I always wondered how gun must have been when the game just released back in the day. Hearing the things the game had before makes me wish I knew the game sooner.

Frontier Gate, didn't anything new about the game about a couple of days ago. Never seen a game so focused on CO-OP in general, going in pair with either a NPC or a player, the sense of camaraderie is cool.

And I would say Dragon's dogma, then again I knew of it around the same age I was into Monster Hunter, so...

Onimusha was a hoot-and-a-half!
I'd known about it for a long-ass time but never picked it up until last year.
I'll gladly tout the title "Bonehead" for that one. It's so good.

These would've been quite the different experience as a kid if I'd played them back then.

I'd have loved Curse of Darkness as a kid too.
Skipped it because I saw a few lukewarm reviews.
It pays to take middle-of-the-road reviews with a grain of salt, it seems.🤔

Any fighting game, if i started earlier i would've been better.
This is probably the one I relate to the most lol, I remember buying Guilty Gear Accent Core +R for dirt cheap when it was on sale, amazing decision.

Disco Elysium.
Hopefully nier (I’m playing it next)
I seriously wish there were more games like Disco Elysium, the closest I can think of is just reading a Dostoevsky book and pretending it's a video game lmao.

I wouldn’t give DeadSpace the time of day till like, 2015? Now I like it more than Bioshock as a System Shock sequel. Didn’t play 3 till last year, either, and should have. DeadSpace 3 and Alien 3: great in spite of executive meddling.

Im currently playing in Xenogears and really like it so far(6h in). I was expecting to turn it off after max 10min, i dont like rpgs with only few exceptions, but now im curious what will be next everytime i sit and play, Good story.

I only recently got the chance to play FF13 and Eternal Sonata on a cheap used xbox360; not really a regret, because I'm glad I've played them, but I've kept my eyes on them since their release :)

when i was a small child who just got into gaming through ratchet and clank, my dream game was one where you could make your own robot, if i had known about armored core earlier, i definitely would've gotten one of the games for the psp.

Demons Roots. That game drastically changed my life for the better, and playing it sooner would've caused that kind of reaction sooner.

Beyond that...I don't think anything really stands out. There are a lot of games I loved that I could've played far sooner. But playing, say, Demon's Souls PS3 in 2023 didn't really make any difference over if I would've played it when I got it in 2017. Emulation is also easily accessible for no cost, as is every game on PC that isn't bound by denuvo.

Anemoia:Nostalgia for a time or a place one has never known or experienced.

A.K.A playing this for the first time:

You mean to tell me i could have been playing THIS on my PS2 instead of Licensed Shovelware?!

AND IT HAS 2000'S ROCK/POP-PUNK SOUNDTRACK?!

Onimusha was a hoot-and-a-half!
The fact that you can't use analog controls kills this game for me. I don't know how other people were able to get past this. I mean, Capcom supported analog controls since Resident Evil: Directors Cut on PSX, why on earth they decided not to implement it in a PS2 game? It is simply beyond my understanding.

My game I regret not playing for a long time was Hades. I bought it long time ago and kind of forgot about it entirely, recently installed it and got blown away.

Silent Hill 2, I know I would've probably loved it as a teenager even if it had made me shit myself, but who knows, maybe I wouldn't have been as immersed in its atmosphere and psychology as when I first played it some years ago

I didn't play it but I can understand what do you mean.

Sekiro.

Was totally hyped for it, but the distribution here in the launch was a mess, I received my copy 3 months after and at this period I was playing Monster Hunter like day and night, so I just ignored Sekiro for about FOUR years.

It was only in 2023 that I not only finished for the first time but got the platinum trophy it became my second most favorite From Software title. What a game.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

with the REDUX patch
During 2020 Covid Breadown (which definitely added to the experience)

Despite OoT being one of my favs, I didn't paly MM until recently because I watched Vinny Vinesauce playing so much!

Something charming about the game's theme and atmosphere, being both about despair but also HOPE that I really liked!

majoras mask mm GIF

Rumble Fighter (PC), Megaman X Online Deathmatch and Megaman XDive because I could have made a bigger impact in the community if I had began playing sooner.
