I've been sitting in front Tales of Legendia's first final boss for over 15 years. There's a reason for this. So the way the game's story is structured is the first 40 hours are the main part. After that the next 40 hours are all character stories that give all your party members a complete story arc.

Here's the issue. Around the time I was close to beating the main story, a friend notified me that the director chose to only dub the first half of the game in english. I had really become attached to the main cast. Playing the next 40 hours without any voice acting sounded horrible. As much as I loved the characters, it completely killed my motivation to finish.

And the japanese version was fully voiced! Stupid cost-cutting director ruined the overseas release. Legendia is already considered the black sheep of the series due to its awful battle system. The characters carry the entire experience. Yet Namco couldn't even do THAT properly.

I'm still angry at Japanese video game companies that rip out tons of content from their games just to translate the game to English less!!!

The solution would be to play it from the beginning using the undubbed iso. I believe it's on the repo. For me though, I enjoy the english dub too much. I don't think I'll ever get around to the undub.

What gets me the most is that they went about this in the worst way possible. They could have selectively dubbed important sections of the story, like they did in Symphonia. They could have made the entire thing unvoiced overseas. Instead they fully dubbed the entire first half of the game and nothing more. Who the hell thought that was a good idea? XD

And then to really rub it in, Abyss got a full dub when it released months later. No shade on Abyss. It's my second favorite game in the series. But man. Someone at Namco really wanted Legendia's overseas launch to crash and burn.

USED to be pokemon uranium, but i can happily say that i finally finished it earlier this year

i just kept catching and training up the fakemon because i liked so many of the designs, i forced myself to stop and finish the game, but i still had like 20 pokemon trained up by the end of the game

There's SO many of these for me. But one of the worse ones gotta be the Valkyria Chronicles games. I have started playing 2 and 4 and never got farther than 4-5 hours.
