Thankfully, I've gotta say, things have been looking good for me so far. Plenty of good things happening in life, so I'd really like to discuss the best of what gaming has to offer when it comes to showcasing the most inspiring, compassionate, and uplifting sides of humanity.

What are the games that, to you, capture the best of humanity? The ones that left you feeling inspired, moved, or just a little more hopeful about the world?

what's those first two games?

Okami has a pretty moving story about a goddess helping the world and the faith and prayers she receives in gratitude.

The title pretty much sums up what Freedom Fighters is all about and seeing people come together to fight tyranny in this game is inspiring. Particularly in the role that you have as the player.

If you haven't played Journey online where you randomly run into other players, you haven't really played Journey.

If you get the right ending along with a rather unique take on a credits sequence, Nier Automata is quite uplifting. The game even finds a way to simulate human sacrifice in a way that involves your save data (though any gamer with a functioning brain should have their saves backed up). Playing this game is like driving through a dark tunnel, and then seeing the light at the end.

Nier Automata and Journey are particularly inspiring in how they create a positive experience involving real life gamers in an online community.

It has to be Deus Ex.

It's a game that everyone can play and get an incredibly original experience, independent of the millions that came before his or hers.

It's also a game that you can never truly master, because there's always a secret to discover or a solution you hadn't thought up before. To this day I keep discovering items I missed and dialogue options I hadn't gotten to before. And that? That's the mark of a great game.

Not show the best game humans can do, but a game that shows humanity at large in a positive light. Deus Ex is absolutely not that.

You know what? You are absolutely right. I completely misread the topic.

I don't really play games that show you positive things, so I guess I'm ill-equipped for this one conversation.

ICO. It's core concept is boy meets girl, on the younger side of most protagonists you play, the boy after being cast aside by his tribe as a sacrifice meets another captive a girl with a stranger power and both look for a way out of the castle while unable to communicate with each other all while facing creatures of shadow.
