what games gave you a crippling addiction to gambling? whether its with fake money or real money

i have spent about a thousand dollars on counter strike skin gambling websites. and i deeply regret it tbh lol

Not with real money, but I get sidetracked *super* easily by any game that has in-game gambling. Whether it be stuff like poker and blackjack or original in-universe games.

I bet some people are going to say Luigi

Anyway I spent some money playing Poker online in the past, I don't think it was that much relatively speaking

Early Rocket League. I haven't spent money on a battle pass or in-game items in a couple years now but around 8 years ago I dropped a bunch of coin on Rocket League trying to get cool goal explosions.

During Overwatch's like second or third anniversary, I spent 60 bucks on lootboxes in it, got one or two things I wanted and felt immense, crippling buyer's remorse about a thousandth of a second after opening them.

None. The waifu moneybait propaganda is no match for my sheer luck and being a cheapskate

None , but I spend too many hours on the DQ 11 and 8 casino ( I even had my cousins gamble for me 💀)

Not real money, but I spent hours in the Dragon Quest casinos to get the special items/equipment that you could only get there.

I second this. The roulette table and slot machines and the poker tables...those casino's got riiiiinsed.

If in doubt, put it all on Red 14

I just play Yakuza for the Mahjong, but I don't know if that counts.

When I got Uncharted Waters as a kid I was mad cause I had been told it was a RPG and it's really a trading & exploring sim. I had nothing else to play, though, so I stayed in the first port and played Blackjack for hours. Eventually I gave it a real shot and ended up loving the game. Other than that I avoid casinos in games, they feel like a waste of time.

persona 2 got me into blackjack and i cant pass the opportunity to play at least a few hands.
I FUCKING LOVE BLACKJACK
(i never win)

When i was a high school kid (circa 1998-1999) after classes i went with 2 or 3 mates to play Goldeneye at any videogame center in neigborhood to put our lunch money at stake. Only one rule : If you were the one who lost the most times, you had to pay the N64 rental bill (most of times we rented 1 hour) If Goldeneye cartridges were busy by other customers, we choose Mario Kart 64 instead. Same rule : If you lose the most times, you had to pay N64 rental bill.

I'm actually a "recovering" (I hadn't gambled for like 8 years then played Blackjack on vacation so call it what you will) gambling addict, and a huge part of the reason is because I got into skin gambling for the video game CSGO (Counter Strike Global Offensive) at the ripe age of 17. This was because the unrestricted regulations at the time for skin-based gambling, meant I could partake. In roughly a year and a half I'd lost (with inflation) between $2500 - $3500 USD. Incredibly I'm not in debt because of smart financial decisions later in life, but I take that as a life lesson and warn all who play Counter Strike against it.

Going to that amusement park stage in Legend of the Mystical Ninja and using save states always makes me feel like Biff Tanen finding that sports almanac lmfao.

The coin game!

I can sit forever blasting coinage into arcade machines, I've spent many hours in birthday mode accumulating useless junk and eating fake food while trying to get the last letter in the "Hockey" game, or to finally hit the top of the whirly bird or to get thr last card in a coin pusher to make the set or to finally get another weirdly coloured knock off pusheen.

I learned Poker from Luigi and then went on to play Zynga Poker extensively in middle school.

Now I'm trying to learn Mahjong so I can play it more in Yakuza. I've been watching The Way of Pon and Saki.
