GAMES THAT MADE ME CRY

Games that made me cry:
Klonoa
Spec Ops: The Line
Bastion

Games that made me just tear up a little:
Silent Hill 2
Klonoa 2
Super Mario Odyssey
(the end of New Donk City for whatever reason)
and currently playing through Grandia and as the person mentioned above me, yeah pretty great scene.

the klonoa games had no business being so sad

Games in which the hero starts as a "normal" person and then begins a dangerous journey, grows up, makes lots of friends along the way and is able to fulfill his dreams without losing the resolve... because I've often lost my resolve along the way, and I would like to be stronger and better at making people around me feel better when they need it (sometimes I can't control my problems and so it's difficult to be a shoulder for someone else).

The only game that made me cry

Brothers A Tale of Two Sons

Bro, i tough Lucas got it hard, Ark on Terranigma didn't deserve 0.000000001 percent of the pain he goes though
The world he spends Light Gaia knows how long to recreate? since he is an Avatar of dark Gaia and you killed him as the final boss, he can't even enjoy the damn thing

Hmm I think only game made me close to tearing up is Dragon Quest IX but constantly the whole game is sad, not some impactful moment or ending. Game constantly finds a way to introduce new sadness type.

Whatever happens to your character is beyond a human misfortune and it really sucks and it gets constantly gets more sucks in a sacrifice as a human we will never get but we can understand how sucks it's so it made me tear up a little at the end because "OMG I can't take it anymore" lol.

Developers managed to transcent sadness beyond human comprehension by using elements what a human can understand and develop a video game with all visible shades of sadness. But there are also positive and negative emotions I don't think any human language can express, but then if you don't care about the situations it wouldn't be sad for you. It depends on if you care about what happens to the character you play or not.

Games that come to mind that came close to the feeling would be any of the Nier games, Original and Automata. Obligatory granted if you know how Yoko Taro games are. Though the only one to really get me is Umineko with tears of joy at how it concludes in the best way possible.

Honorable mention goes to the Subahibi Looking-glass Insects chapter for making me feel devastated at the ending after all the humiliation and suffering the protagonist of that chapter goes through. Great writing but my God the journey to get there was not easy.

Well...

- Klonoa: you all know why ç.ç
- Kingdom Hearts II: THAT ENDING MAN, I LOVE THAT ENDING SO MUCH, AND I CRIED WHEN I SAW IT AGAIN RECENTLY BECAUSE OF THE STUFF THAT HAPPENED AFTER KINGDOM HEARTS II Ç~Ç
- Mother 3: I love this game, but I cried so much playing it sometimes that I'm honestly afraid of playing it again now ç.ç
- Final Fantasy X: beautiful ending that Square destroyed later (I'm not talking about X-2, btw).
- Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins: I don't want to give spoilers, but I wasn't crying tears of joy, I was actually sad at one point and teared up a little.
- Persona 3: you all know why Ç~Ç
- Super Robot Wars J: this game has a death scene from my favorite anime (G Gundam), and it hits just as hard here as it did in that show.

And I think this is it? I'm usually very emotional, but right now I just remember these examples.

Yeah, it seems there are people like that too.
nuh uh i cry of the ending dawg

Ha I could make a list of games/animes that made me tear up "reason why I hate sad anime´s and avoid them like plague I hate crying"

But the worst part is crying or feeling bad over games makes me feel like im not right in the head like why do I have such strong reactions over imaginary charters. It does not feel like something that is normal.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days' ending made me cry because I had beaten Kingdom Hearts II already. And it made me really appreciate Roxas as a character. In fact that game alone made me go from thinking he was unnecessary to realizing he is the best character.

i feel bad for people who watched the cutscene movie and didnt get to play the game instead. the story is a lot better told as a slow burn where you experience the events as they unfold from roxas' pov.

YES! Experiencing Roxas' story day by day and seeing it in real time made it far more impactful. The cutscene movie condenses a 30 hour story to only about 3 hours and you don't feel what Roxas feels or how he goes through his thoughts.
