This game has alot going for :
Still a great looker of a game , the stormy weather-effects are really impressive with its very realistic mechanics and it had third-person-shooting gameplay .

So whats wrong with this game ?
Well ... the story is really bland , the shooting and gameplay overall is not very great while it lacked oomph and good feedback from its many guns (some guns are even useless ) , some enemies were alright while most were typical monster archetypes and zombies , it has a pace that is more dreadful to experience and the characters lacked some personality .

What a really dissapointing game .

Extra : What really irks me about this game , its very similiar and reminds me of Deep Fear ( Saturn ) and Carrier ( Dreamcast ) . Blond guy must survive in a hellscape of an Tanker/Oil-platform somewhere in the middle of the atlantic because a virus/mutation/"Sci-fi boogaloo unknown to mankind" was digged out and researched hard as if it was the next best thing besides cola and the Abrams-tank.... COMBINED !!!

Very weird ... maybe thats just me .

Final Fantasy VIII for me, so many bad design choices ruin the experience of the game, and many things are way too hard/nigh impossible like winning the card game in different regions, and getting all the GFs, Blue Magic, and items. Not being able to go anywhere but the end at the end of the game was a very poor decision for them, which did not cause the game to be remembered fondly.

Far East of Eden on SNES was a bit disappointing since the patch you go with the characters is kinda the same in all scenarios where you go. At least it was fun to play till the end.

Same for me as well, I bought Final Fantasy XIII game for the first time, it had great visuals, the character were good as well, fighting was a bit getting used to, but it felt a bit off for me.

I'll change "very disappointing" to "somewhat disappointing", because I had a good experience with it. But.

Not taking itself too seriously is fine, but this game takes that concept to another level. The story has no sense of buildup or whatever, it's go meet that random person, now go meet that other random one. Which is underwhelming considering this game progression is basically doing fetch quests in a linear progression that barely tries to disguise itself in the "open" world by arbitrarily locking places you can't go yet. Looking at the map requires to pause the game then choose an option, which is something you're going to do a lot. You're gonna pause at boss fights to eat food too.

The Double Dragon brothers DLC I was waiting for was a disappointment too because it doesn't respect its real source material, Double Dragon Neon. The sprites are off, the moveset is off, and so are the voice actors, because they had to go with popular youtubers instead of the original voices. (I HATE CELEBRITY CASTING CULTURE!!!!!)

Final Fantasy 8 was made in only 9 mounts and it shows if they had more dev time to polish the game it would be one of the best JRPG of all time

First time I've played Cold Fear I thought of it as a Hidden Gem cuz' I think that for an attempt at ape-ing RE4 at that time, they did a pretty good job. The Setting and Atmosphere were cool too...

As for Disappointing, to me it's either Lords of Shadow 2 and Force Unleashed 2... I really liked the first games but these sequels definitely could've been better.

Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life

When I was little my parents took me and my brother to a place where they sold a bunch of used stuff to buy my brother a videogame for his birthday, he ended up getting two gamecube games and beetween the games sold there I saw AWL and begged them to buy it because I knew the next time we ever went there the game would be sold already, I grew up playing Harvest Moon 64 since I'd been like, 4, so seeing it had a Gamecube game made me super excited, but they didn't want buy it and they didn't take me to the store again until 3 years later, and by that time they didn't sell Gamecube games anymore, they only had like 3 shitty licensed GBA games that I knew weren't worth playing (but got one anyway because my parents insisted since they had already drived there). Later that same year my brother sold the Gamecube and I didn't have a computer powerful enough to emulate Gamecube games until I was 16, wich is when I finally got to play it.

I don't dislike the game at all, it's one of my favorites from the series (that one and 64 have the coziest vibes for me) because of the fact that it's basically the only game where your child grows up instead of becoming essentially a talking decoration in your home, but it's just sooo slooooow, and I feel like there isn't much to do on the game, everything feels clunky, the game feels practically unfinished. I haven't tried the remake but the way they changed the graphics to be all colorful dissapoints me a little already, I feel like the muted colors of the original fit it's tone better and all the newest Harvest Moon games (or Story of Seasons to be exact) are becoming more childish.

I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, I'm just sad that I feel like no other games seem to capture that same cozyness paired with slightly more serious tones despite of how many “cozy” games are coming out now, Harvest Moon 64 and AWL make me feel like I'm in a iyashikei manga, only other games that come close to giving me that feeling are the Boku no Natsuyasumi series. Most likely than not other games like that do exist and my nostalgia clouds my judgement.

Half Life 2

I got it when they gifted it in its anniversary, the chance to get the so called best PC Shooter finnaly in my hands, i installed, saw the iconic "Wake up Mr Freeman" scene, finished the tutorial...

And the having fun demo ended there, the rest of the game was kind of a fib, while some parts i get that they were revolutionary at the time, et's get real here, some mechanics aged like fine milk, like the physics puzzles that are way too strict or the hoverboard mission, my patience tolerated until halfway the game, didn't helped that the FOV caused me some drowziness, that is right, the game made me literally sick

On the bright side, i got to pick up the can

Daytona USA for the Saturn.
I know it´s a legendary arcade but it just not my type of racing game.

FFVIII and FFXIII like others have mentioned. If there's one guarantee in a Final Fantasy game, is that it will look incredible. It may not be fun, but it will look amazing and have a killer soundtrack.

FFXVI wasn't any better, to be honest. Its like DMC without any of the fun.

Remake and Rebirth are pretty bad too, although I'm sure I'm going to catch some flak for saying that. You can slap Cloud and Tifa on any game and no matter how bad it is, some fanboy will go to their grave defending it.

Unlimited SaGa on the PS2.
It looks gorgeous and has that nice watercolor aesthetic. However, it is very slow to play and you can't run.
I am the number one Unlimited SaGa fan, and i can't deny that the game is sometimes slow, and while you can't run from battle , this was something present in other SaGa games (SaGa frontier 1) and you can avoid enemies on the field too.
