What is a game that gave you chills at a certain moment?

SPOILER FOR DOKI DOKI LITERATURE CLUB

the only time I got chills from a game was when you walk in on Sayori's hanging corpse
It was such a well hidden twist

A lot of tense moments in horror games have given me chills before. Playing Resident Evil 4 at way too young an age and going through the hedge-maze with the dogs or encountering the regenerators both come to mind.

SPOILER FOR DOKI DOKI LITERATURE CLUB

Spoiler text

It may be useful to use the "spoiler" BB code to hide the Doki Doki Literature Club spoiler. I know a majority of users here probably already know of the spoiler, but I think it may be helpful regardless.

This can be done by adding [spoiler] before the text, and [/spoiler] at the end of the spoiler text. The result should be as shown below:

To answer the question, I was rather surprised by the old VN, Tsukihime. Many of the endings are bleak, to put it lightly. There's also one character in particular who had an awful backstory that sticks with me. Those who have read the VN likely know the character in question.
Kohaku.

Many I can't recall but the Frozen Butterfly Ending on Fatal Frame 2 on Wii and The Backstories of the Families in Silent Hill Homecoming

When I was a kid I couldn't get past the beginning of Silent Hill and it made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Never really been too affected by horror games, but I think one thing that had me on edge was the Resident Evil 2 Remake. That game has stellar audio design. Hearing Mr. X's footsteps off screen as you are doing stuff really puts your ass in gear. I wish that Nemesis didn't get done so dirty in Resident Evil 3 Remake, they completely ruined his character.

I like your Surge pfp btw @DrunkGecko

That certain part on legend of Zelda on the 64 , i can't remember which one but there's this weird enemy with white melty looking skin with red splotches and it still gives me the creeps till this day

The only time a game has scared me was in Eternal Darkness

The game features a sanity meter which creates effects depending on how low it is. These effects can also break the 4th wall, with one saying that it's deleting your save file. Yeah, that one got me.

Spelunky games makes me feel a lot of fear, although it's because of losing progress and not like surreal fear.

If you allow me to cheat a little though, once I had some sort of youtube extension that for some reason would pause videos in other tabs when loaded. Bear in mind this was a time when sounds and videos still autoplayed in browsers automatically.

I opened a video, immediately forgot about it and opened another one. Guy was filming himself while talking and gesticulating, then suddenly he stops while still looking at me and this song starts playing:

This happened because I opened this ost first, but it took longer to load then it interrupted the other video.

I was caught completely by surprise though, and was possibly the only time I genuinely lost grasp of reality for a moment.

Don't worry I did it for you. I used [ISPOILER ] instead of [SPOILER ] though because I'm picky

'the / Coronation Day for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System gave me chills.

My worst chill was how tough it was to do the Shang Tsung fight challenge in netherealm when playing konquest mode in Mortal Kombat Deception... You can spot him walking outside a big dome building in netherealm, and once you launch the battle against Shang Tsung, you have a set of disadvantages in which you start with your health halfway, and also draining rapidly while Tsung has full health and no health drainage. Not only that but he's put in the highest difficulty which makes it much more difficult I was getting CHILLS knowing that I couldn't find a way to beat this guy! Hats off to those who could actually manage to defeat that fight challenge...

Resident Evil 3 scared me from the second that awesome intro started playing all the way to the end.

The last game to give me chills would go to Resident Evil Village, especially with one of the sections in the game.
House Beneviento during my first playthrough really got to me the most as I didn't expect a PT like section in the game and it put me on edge throughout the whole section, especially with the baby that chases you and being rather ambiguous compared to the other creatures in the game. My favorite section overall. Close second would go to Heisenberg's Factory as body horror is something that always gets me so seeing this section was heavily focusing on that with Heisenberg's creations (also made me watch Frankenstein's Army which was a ride of it's own lol), I'll give the Factory that whenever I get to talk about it despite it not being my fav section to playthrough.

Inscryption has several moments that gave me chills. I highly recommend it.
