Games that everyone hate but you love. Or vice versa

The Dig, by Lucasarts. Killer vibe and OST, my favorite adventure game.

It was my first point and click adventure game, I have fond memories of it, but never finished it as a kid; the puzzles flew way over my head.

I played Nostalgia (DS) back in 2023 on a whim and was shocked how much I ended up loving it - it's totally JRPG comfort food, and scratches a similar "age of adventure" airship exploration vibe as Skies of Arcadia. The world map is the real world, but with enough differences that it makes finding something new even more meaningful somehow.

But no one seems to talk about this game, and the things people do say seem pretty lukewarm. It's not the best game ever, but if any of the above sounds good to you, I totally recommend checking it out! It's even got a cute French witch girl and adorable little rabbit creatures that look like Terriermon from Digimon! >w<

I blame it being on the DS, people don't like to admit it but especially in the DS era alot of shovelware hit the system which drowned out some hidden gems.

Recently I played through Resident Evil: Survivor and there are definitely some issues (No lightgun for NA release, for example) and it's very short (there are multiple ways to work your way through the mission on replays, however) I really-really think it's charming as hell. It's clunky as hell, but the mainline original games kind of were too. I really had a good time with it.

Dragon age 2, I just love the fact that you see the changes around the city and Hawkeye & friends, the more in depth lore about the qunari , the mage templar conflict escalating little by little and Meredith descend to madness via the red lyrium, what a fun game even if was repetitive

Oh wow, really? I was able to finish the game and most of the postgame without issue - what was the glitch?

The called "Albion Bug" where Albion won't appear after the Easter Island Puzzle, no matter what you do, searching online yelded me nothing due to the game being kinda obscure, but AFAIK, it only affects a certain number of carts, out of paranoia of downloading a bugged patch i haven't played it, wich is a shame because it happens WAY into the game to know if i got the infected dump

I'm embarrassed to tell anyone I love Sonic R.

I loved it. I unlocked all the characters back then and I still listen to the soundtrack today.

Living in the City, man. You know you have to survive.

I liked The Simsons Skateboarding for the PS2 too.

I just liked skateboarding and still hadn't take the Tony Hawk Pill yet :3

How about a one-two punch?
These two games have a lot in common: they were early Mega Drive/Genesis titles that were obtuse fighting games not adhering to the golden atandard setting Street Fighter 2 shrined.

That said, they had cool premises and character designs, and I love them in a way you would a stray puppy no one wants.

Saw Fire emblem fates mentioned, I personally enjoy it. I think it’s probably because of a lot of nostalgia, it was my first fire emblem game and now fe is one of my favourite game series. Also saw Fire Emblem Engage mentioned but I love that game it’s so campy.

If you didn't swallow that pill already, it's probably not gonna go down at all at this point.

The great thing about the THPS games was they were a sort of pioneer in gaming, being the first in the genre to set the bar for what makes a good skating game. I'm not claiming them to be the first skating games; simply that there was not a whole lot of interest or selection among skating games back then, so you could argue that you  could play some other ones like Skate or Die, but realistically if you want a good, fun skating game, chances are you're probably gonna go for THPS over Skate or Die or some other old game about skateboarding.

Seeing these games in the aftermath of the whole scene is a bit underwhelming, since there's Skate 2 and other great games  now, but back then there was little selection in the way of skating games in general; and like I said, those that we  did have were a bit... Lacking. At least, in my opinion. I'm sure  someone out there enjoys them, but consider the ratio of how many people are avid fans of Skate or Die, and how many are fans of THPS; it's as clear as night and day.

My favourite thing about the fire emblem series is how different each game is, I’d be disappointed if each of them fallowed some perfect formula that they knew worked each time.

completely agree, i think that is one of the things that kept the series truly alive, if it wasn't for how different FE1 was from FE2 and FE4 and FE5 AND FE6.... we will not have funny SMASH CHARACTERS BABY >:3

i legit played for like 2 years but get burned out because of the power scaling. I dont really dislike gatcha games because they are gatcha. There is a public for that and i may not be one of them. But i don't really hate Heroes. Just it isn't for me (i still got a 5 star +10 Tailtyu :3)

I mean, what's the point of having the same character in more than ten different alternative costumes and holidays?

the only thing is getting me forever in rank 17, is a 5 star astram (+10), with its mega-buff mercurius...
