Games that always lift your spirit and mood no matter what?

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 from genesis with the cheat code (cause I know I can always win quickly ::smug)
19 65 9 17 4 1 2 6 1 9 9 2 1 1 2 4. I dont think Ill ever forget it :O

And Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles, as I actually had to learn that game back and forth and couldnt cheat, so got good enough to get super sonic before even getting into the Knuckles part of the game :D

lol theres probably more but thats like childhood nostalgia for me ::eggmanlaugh

do you recommend ape escape 2? I see a lot of people throwing hate to that game, and when I tried it, it dissapointed me, but I'm kinda biased with the first one because music is VERY IMPORTANT TO ME in a videogame, and the first ape escape has a GORGEOUS soundtrack. I completed it twice, and even one time on 100% (i think it was a higher number?), but the music of the second game felt SO BORING and SO GENERIC, that It didn't made me feel the things that the first game made me feel. I was gonna test the 3rd one someday but idk, I wanna see your opinion
I have played the first 3 games and to be totally real I didn't try the 1st one until recently (like literally 3 days ago) and the music in it is just so vibe-y and atmospheric the time station track especially makes me feel like I'm about to watch a Summoning Salt video

That said yea my memory on Ape Escape 2 is really hazy first time I played it was when it released for the ps4 as part of the ps2 classiscs line-up and I remember having fun with it, but I really don't remember anything beside it was good not bad maybe forgettable? cuz Ape Escape 3 is like my absolute favorite and I remember everything from that game to a T it really is one my favorite 3D Platformers of all time

Dark Chronicle, Tales of the Abyss, Devil May Cry 3, Sonic Unleashed and TLOZ The Wind Waker
Oh man what a coincidence! I started playing Tales of The Abyss yesterday. Before that the only Tales Of game I played and finished was Vesperia I really loved that game, and now trying Abyss from a friend recommendation hopefully I will like it too the Tales formula is just so good and feel timeless

my beloved

I like to refer to this one as "free therapy". Just hearing the title song gives me peace of mind.

I think other players' opinion would be too subjective.
In this case, you should do just what your heart says... ;->

I have that same issue with Road Rash II! 00DA 1V0N will net you the Wild Thing motorcycle. That code has been trapped in my brain for over thirty years.

Chrono Cross is a rather, emotional and thought provoking game to play. Each time I play, I explore and talk with the NPCs. Some of them really make you think, the theme of what if, of another time and place, of what could've been is prevalent throughout; and as an adult now, it does hit hard.

It's a journey of reflection and a really good one too.

Stardew Valley
Rune factory 1-5
Graveyard Keeper
Pax Dei

Honestly anime works better. So what I do is start up one of the mentioned games and on the second monitor I run one of my favorite 20 animes.

Right now im playing Graveyard keeper and having Dungeon people on my second monitor.

Sonic R is my perfect bad day cure! The game really does have an infectiously happy tone that can pull me out of any bad spot, I love it so much.

So a comfort game? Age Of Mythology , music that's soooo relaxing

The setting the Graphics and the colors Idk there is something delightful about gazing upon Age Of Mythology armies clashing with one another or peasants working their asses off farms or fishing ships bringing back fish to feed the population OR a fleet of ships sailing to whatever destination

As of recently i been playing my beloved Red Alert 2 man......i lost interest in Red Alert some years ago (around 2019~2020) but now i feel like i been missing those CNC games that impacted me in the way i play RTS and the sheer badassery of Westwood "PROUDLY PRESENTS" , i may not place Red Alert games in my top 5 of top 10 games and that's because all Red Alert games (1/2/3) occupy a special place in my heart whether it's the dark vibes of RA1 with Mammoth tanks and Longbow Helicopters or the Giant squids and Boomer submarines of Red Alert 2 or the Rocket Angels and Natasha from Red Alert 3 they all too good to be placed in some list

What makes these games better is how easy they are to mod , with few clicks i made Mammoth tanks twice as durable without increasing their HP just using an unused armor type and doing the same in Red Alert 2 thanks to the modding extension Ares which is a blessing for someone like me who proceeded to clone Super weapons so each faction can build 2 SWs , heck RA3 got modding support so good you don't even need fan made stuff the devs already gave out modding tools and even a mod launcher!

The voicelines , the graphics of RA1/RA2 and the setting , the crazy gameplay of CNC ahhh nothing can match it in fact I'm thinking of playing RA2 now as I'm writing this :loldog

Voicelines such as:

SOVIET POWER SUPREME
COMMENCING SHOCK THERAPY
HAIL TO THE GREAT YURI
THE MIND IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE
ACCEPTING DONATIONS
WE'RE UNCRUSHABLE
DUTCHLAND FINEST!
HIGH SPEED LOW DRAAAG
ANYTIME BOSS
READY TO SOAR
I WILL TAKE THE HIGH ROAD
THEY GET NO PLACE TO HIDE
MEAN GREEN UNSEEEN
NOW YOU SEE ME SOON YOU WON'T
LAYING LOW
AREN'T TREES LOVELY
SLAVES ARE CHEAP HA HA
FASTER LITTLE SLAVE!
PRISM TANK IN ORDER SIR
MAGNIFIERS ACTIVATED
COMPENSATING FOR TERRAIN FLAWS

Mario Kart - It's just plain fun.

131229_front.jpg

Harvest Moon: A Tale of Two Towns - I love to randomly drop in and play for a few hours and disappear for months. The soundtrack is just great!

Road Rash Jailbreak - I remember playing this on my brother's GBA. I still play it. Pretty nostalgic.

anno_1701.jpg

Anno 1701 - This game is just so relaxing (in Continuous Mode). The soundtrack is great too.

professor-layton-and-the-unwound-future-usa-coverart.jpg

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future - The storyline and puzzles are great. I love all the Professor Layton games but Unwound Future is my favorite. Some of the soundtracks are out of this world <3

85162_front.jpg

All Ace Attorney games are just so freaking good. I can't even choose one. But if I had to choose, I would pick Trials and Tribulations. Currently replaying the whole series.

Harvest_Moon_Friends_of_Mineral_Town-usa-gba-coverart.jpg

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town - This game was literally my whole childhood. I remember my whole goal in life around that time was wooing Karen and then later Ellie. Tons of fun and nostalgia.

game-boy-advance-the-lord-of-the-rings-the-fellowship-of-the-ring.jpg

This game is my "soundtrack" game. They are just so frigging relaxing! I listen to them when I have to do my chores.

Tomodachi Life - Visiting the miis makes my day, solving their problems, and helping them make friends, it's so relaxing.

I remember Graveyard Keeper. Had to abandon it because life got in the way. A bit gory for me but was great. Looks like I need to pick it up again!
After the 1.5 update wait for Stardew Valley years ago, I didn't play again. Still have the save files though.

Dragon Quest VIII. I still have my original copy - case an all. Even have the FF demo disk it came with.

The flying in that game always manages to capture my heart, for lack of less dramatic words. I think at some point or another we've all had troubles we wished to get away from and for me, flying was how I wanted to escape when I was younger.

Due to a lack of wings, I couldn't l, so gaming was my go-to.

Adding to it was the soundtrack that plays during the scenes and....yeah. The feeling always makes me smile like a kid in an old school game store. 😄

Another I can think of was Wind Waker. I brought it on Game Cube and could spend hours sailing the oceans.
