Games set in Africa

I'm wondering why Africa is mostly portrayed with either warfare happening, being under dictatorship or starving populations.

I know that not everything is perfect but this portrayal of that continent is rarely positive.

i mean no offense, but Africa hardly has a decade when it was having a good time, in society economy and food, IMO.

I think part of it, its corruption so deep in the system that sadly it has no cure or improvement. : (
There's a slight chance it will get better but let's not delve too much into something that would turn out political.

Afrika (PS3) is a unique and underrated game about wildlife photography in the savannah.

Jambo! Safari is a pretty funny arcade game about pursuing animals on jeep and lassoing them.

This probably doesn't come as news to anyone else, but I was surprised to learn that a large part of Halo takes place in Africa.

I'm wondering, are there major games set in the Maghreb and western Mashriq regions?

Because Africa is quite big so it's like comparing western Europe with Russia and the closer countries from East and Central Europe or America from the far North of Canada to Mexico.

Guys, I HAVE TO talk about Tales of Kenzera: ZAU! This game isn’t just an incredible gameplay experience—it’s a powerful celebration of African culture and a direct stand against the systemic racism that has so often erased Black narratives from gaming.
From the very first trailer, you could tell ZAU was something special. The inspiration from Bantu mythology brings a unique freshness to the metroidvania genre, taking us into a vibrant world full of mysticism, spirits, and challenges that make every moment of the journey unforgettable. But what really hit me was the story—a tale of grief, legacy, and resilience that both moves and teaches at the same time.

Africa Trail. Sort of like Oregon Trail, but you ride a bicycle across Africa.

Several early mission in Ace Combat Assault Horizon take play in Africa. Though people dispute it's spin off status and try to compare it to the rest of the flight action games and it's very different gameplay dose put some people off. Also it's hard to get running on modern systems.

Excuse me but what are you talking about?

Not that we should delve further into that conversation as per the forum rules.

In the game "Venetica" there's a part set in Africa; there's also "Sniper Elite 3 - Afrika" (this one I've given up because I'm bad in stealth games).

For those who are curious, "Venetica" is a game that has probably taken inspiration from Assassin's Creed, I've played it on pc and I've enjoyed A LOT, the dark/semifantasy Venice was cool, as well as combat and graphics.

An afrofuturist-themed game would be pretty cool
