heres an interesting thing to me: games released in Japan, localized in english for europe, but then never brought to america. i hear a lot about Japanese exclusives, and american exclusives are somewhat boring to me... since i live in america. i feel like europe always got the short end of the stick, they usually got games the latest of the three regions, if at all, so i find it interesting when they get stuff we americans never did. a few examples that come to mind off the top of my head are Doshin the Giant for Gamecube, Gregory Horror Show for PS2, and Dark Messiah/Hellnight for PS1. honorable mentions to Xenoblade Chronicles, since it almost got that treatment, but was eventually released in america as a gamestop exclusive. what games like this can you folks think of?

Sega has entered the chat.

Deep Fear is an immediate stand out, Evil Twin: Cyprien's chronicles, Shenmue 2 & Headhunter are also up there.

Okay, Evil Twin & Headhunter weren't developed in Japan but the lack of export to North America is endlessly interesting considering both had native English dialogue.
Europe could and did produce AAA games which sometimes remained obscure to the rest of the world.

Heck, if you look at the Amiga things get crazy port wise.
Whether that's ports to the platform or exclusives that remained stuck in the UK/Canada.

Elite 2: Frontier couldn't get any foothold in America thanks to Wing Commander.
So it never got a proper console port outside of the CD32 on which barely ran.

Gregory Horror Show!! released in japan and EU, developed by Capcom! awesome little quirky survival horror/stealth game based off an equally awesome cgi horror-comedy anime series from the late 90's. one of my favourite games! (not my image)
(just saw u already mentioned it in the OP lmfao, got too excited to post to read. still gotta take the opportunity to mention a fave)

There's a ton on the PS2, it's the only generation in which this happened because of a few budget publishers like Midas and others. Demon Chaos and Code of the Samurai are two examples off the top, you've got at least a dozen Simple 2000 entries (a handful of which are pretty decent), and many more.

The Inazuma Eleven series is a good example of this.
A lot of games were only localized in Europe, even given an English dub, and were never released in America until Victory Road.

I will forever have beef with whomever thought this game had no sales potential stateside.

(Sorry for the YT thumbnail, but it’s the most aesthetically appealing image out of the first few results).

It’s a light gun title where your job is to shoot to defend the little guy as he makes his way through stages, ignoring all danger.
There are other light gun games like this, but none quite as charming, and I’ll forever be mad that the English language version of this game with a fair chunk of cutscenes was only in 50 hrz.

The sequel to Hotel Dusk - Room 215 was never released in the USA, but it was translated to English and released in Europe

The Master System have many games that were released in Europe and Brazil, but not in the USA, like Batman Returns, Aliens 3, the Back to the Future Part II and III, Land of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, The Lion King, Master of Darkness, Streets of Rage 1 and 2, the Mortal Kombat games from 1 to 3 (well, 3 was only released in Brazil), Prince of Persia, Road Rash and the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 to mention a few.

its a pretty cool arcady third person shooter. there's multiple playable characters each with their own campaigns. i've only done the first character, so i can't speak too much on how each character plays. def would suggest checking it out.

PS2 has a few.
Saint Seiya has never been popular in North America, so makes sense only Europe would get a localization.

Battle Construction Vehicles has some pretty special voice acting. Go check it out if you haven't.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja 5 because it was released late into the Playstation 2's life. If I am not mistaken the European release only had subtitling, but not voice dubbing. Many such cases.
