GAME STORES!!! (Story with pics)

Imma be honest. They had a pristine copy of DOAX3 Scarlet up in that hoe. I had the money. I knew I was gonna get memed on if I bought it though so I passed it up for homeboy lol.
I also respect that decision for our homeboy…but damn that must've been quite hard to pass up
Well... i had to show off 18's Red Ribbon Logo.. Didn't i?

That's a pretty gigantic place, that's cool. I think the biggest one in this area is Game Dude in Burbank, but it's a bit of a drive to get there. When I live in Seattle, there are multiple game places but my favorite is the Pink Gorilla chain, though I think all three of their locations would fit in this one place you went to, heh.
Nice! Yeah it's pretty huge. Also Pink Gorilla chain? That's a cute name lmao

That store looks awesome! Wowie what a huge place <3

I used to actually work in a local retro store. Tiny place with its best years behind it, but it was the happiest year and a half of work I've ever had. Poured so much love and time into it, practically lived there since for the last 6ish months I was the only employee besides the owners as the specific location I worked at. During inventory weeks or nights when I just didn't wanna go home I'd pull out a cot and just sleep in the backroom lol.

Then one day one of the owners came in and announced we had to shut everything down, turns out dude was committing tax fraud and it caught up to him. Other owner (the actual founder) was heartbroken as he had no idea, I was devastated as I had been shopping there since I was in middle school but of course I wouldn't be as attached as the founder.

Nothing better than just chillin in the store, listening to whatever I want and just shooting the shit about whatever with customers. Made the aspect of my day-to-day responsibilities feel effortless, it was the first and only job I took actual pride in not just doing well enough to keep my job, but well enough to really make a great impression on others.

this place looks insane, if only we had one like this near me ::blush plenty of mom and pops and a few decently sized places but nothing with an inventory like this

That's an interesting story, I didn't expect that dude or part about committing tax fraud. That's just crazy, I hope that guy learnt a lesson

I really feel bad for the actual owner though, he really didn't deserve that. I respect your hardwork, I'm sure that all your work isn't just enough to make a great impression, but enough to make a great memory that'll last a lifetime

Yes it's pretty huge! Even though it was still a bit crowded, that's kinda expected though

I hope a store like this will exists near you someday ::bigboss

Damn that's fire, it's good to see people are still visiting too. We used to have large game store in town, around 1 hour away from where I live, sadly it closed down as time passes. There are few small mom and pops game store tho, that's pretty much where we got our games these days.

Damn that's sad, may that store rest in peace ::bigboss And just like what they said, "good things won't last forever, so enjoy it while you can"

this reminds me of those, old black Friday vids but less crazy
Less crazy? Damn! I wanted to know if you've seen something crazier, have you been to any?

God if I really wanted I could fill a novella full of stories from that job, hard to believe its been almost 9 years since the place closed. Man time flies!

And nope, dude did not learn! A couple years back he was pushed out of a vaping company he helped cofound with the game store owner because he was repeating the same mistakes. Tons of personal stuff going down with him family too, he just treated people poorly and people have finally had enough. It is a shame, I wish he could have grown from it all.

Well god damn, that's one hell of a stubborn mf that I've ever heard and seen. But again, we don't know what kind of environment did he lived in (or maybe you did). I for some reason, still kinda have some sympathy for that kind of person

Because we never truly know what happened behind the scenes and his backgrounds. Maybe he did something bad because they did something worse to him or anyone, who knows?

Also, 9 YEARS? That's almost a decade ago! I would love to hear stories about that store, and who knows? Maybe you could do an article about it?

Dang that's sad to hear, I hope you enjoy your game though! ::bigboss

3 hours? That's quite far
I hope a cool and great gaming store will be placed near you someday ::dkapproves

And thank you! Yeah it was CRAZY going inside

I hope that'll come true someday ::bigboss

Oh that's wonderful! A lot of Retro stuff too

I kinda wanted to see the main store, sounds like a great place with great people too. Also no worries! I don't mind if you spam the thread with gaming related stuff, especially in a store

And thank you for the highlight, awesome stuff!::yay

That's cool though! And yeah I was having fun I guess (it was a bit crowded, it was worth it though!)

I'm sorry if anyone feels like I'm showing off, I just wanted to share my experience there. It was my first time visiting a place or store THIS big too!

I wish you guys can have a great gaming store like this or even better near you::bigboss
I used to live near a shop like this years ago, the owner was a cool older gentleman I got to be friends with. He'd special order me stuff and sell it to me at wholesale price, I got my 1/4 V3 Miku statue from him.

I moved to a more rural area to be with family, but we don't have quite as much stuff like this here.

Weeeeh! This could totally be an article, dude! Nice.
Yo! Thanks for checking out. I don't know if this is article worthy though, my English is if not quite then "vewy bed" ::peek

But again, thanks for checking!

Wow, sounds like he's a really distinguished gentleman. And he'd special order you stuff? WHOLESALE PRICE?! That isn't just your uncle and grandpa, that's a best friend!

I hope he's doing well and I hope you can send my regards to him (if you can of course), big respect ::bigboss
