Game Series You Haven't Played Yet That Interest You

I never played Kingdom Hearts before, but I only played a 3DS demo before and I really enjoyed it.

I also want to play Dead or Alive games. I only played the first one and Paradise. I'm really sad that the creator recently passed away.

I'm also interested of Hyperdimension Neptunia. The story is good, the music are awesome and emotional. Even the characters are interesting as the game lets us connect with them in multiple ways. Noire became my favorite because of her writing and has some special interactions with the players.

They are two different series with different gameplay styles, although they were created by the same team.
For Growlanser, 2 & 3 came out together in the West as "Growlanser Generations". 4 came out via the PSP expanded port "Wayfarers of Time". And 5 came out on the PS2. That leaves 1 & 6 still untranslated.
IMO, the best is 4, on the PSP. I think it's an extremely overlooked game with a great battle system and a solid story. I'd say start with this one or 3, as they have self-contained stories. 2 is different from the rest as it doesn't have towns you can walk around in, just combat, story scenes and menus between battles. It's also a sequel to 1 taking place some years later so there are lots of references. I haven't played 5 yet.

Langrisser is solid, but more traditional SRPG gameplay, from the real creators of the genre (NCS/Masaya made SRPGs before Fire Emblem existed). There are lots of versions of 1 & 2 in English - 1 is on Genesis (as Warsong), there's a Korean PC remake with an English translation, and some mobile remakes. 2 is on Genesis, mobile, and there's an expanded remake on SNES called Der Langrisser with additional story routes (though it changes some things and is a lot easier). I think only one of the other games is translated, probably IV, and there two legit untranslated entries. I beat one version of each, solid stuff. Later games not developed by Career Team/Career Soft are generally considered awful.
Wow! Thanks for all the info! So focus on Career Team/Soft for Langrisser and Wayfarers of Time for Growlanser. Appreciate the recommendations! ::dkapproves

On a side note, I do want to get into Ys as well sometime. Luckily I already have everything up to VIII on steam and I know exactly how I want to go about playing the series. It's just a bit intimidating lol.

And don't even get me started on how intimidated I am to dive into Legend of Heroes. ::nervous-prinny

I've drifted into Larian's Divinity series after pouring countless hours into Baldur's Gate 3. Now I'm somewhere in the middle of Divine Divinity. Diablo combat, Ultima interactivity. Loot grind plus cupboards and NPC reactions.

Most Falcom games, especially Ys & Eiyuu Densetsu/The Legend of Heroes series. I did play Brandish and Sora no Kiseki/Trails in the Sky trilogy tho, heard mostly only bad things about the later modern games so still kinda reluctant to try it.

Kingdom Hearts, 3D Ninja Gaiden and Disgaea series too. There are others as well that I just can't access due to not being able to play in my emulation.

Breath of Fire and Suikoden as well. I've read the manga of Suikoden 3 and enjoyed it.

Ninja Gaiden 3d, i played the entire NES trilogy as well as the GB spinoff, but the 3D ones are way too hard, not helped that nobody seems to be able to make their flipping mind on which version i must play

がんばれゴエモン

Ganbare Goemon / Mystical Ninja

SaGa and Suikoden. I'll get into them one day, I know, probably just have ot be in the mood for them.
My heart flutters everytime someone mentions SaGa in this thread. I hope when ya'll do get into the series that you end up enjoying yourselves, its super special!

YS and Trails, which is funny to think about since the crossover fighting game featuring those series just got rereleased.

YS interests me because I've the series (according to Wikipedia at least) is framed as a chronicle of the main character's adventures, and that premise sounds intriguing.

As for Trails, every person I've seen get into that series seems like they had their lives changed after playing them, so that's cool. I picked up the remake recently and I can't wait to play it.

Armored Core looks like the dopest game series ever made wtf!!!

Non-Spinoff Touhou, want to play the mainline shumps but i see this shit

And the urges are gone

Digimon because people said it's better than pokemon now I'm curious lol

I've played some of them but I think Falcom rpgs are really neat and would love to get more into them.
Also wizardry because I really like dungeon crawlers

Pokémon, the mother series, persona, yakuza, final fantasy, but I know I will never get to play them, as much as I tried, I didn't enjoy turn based combat

Just to add some info about the designs: the artist on the older ones is Satoshi Urushihara.

Important to note the langrisser 1&2 remake has an option to switch to the classic character designs. I think all versions have this now.
