Thoughts on this? Been a fan for years and I wish I could pin down what I liked about the show, but tbh, I think it's really a culmination of everything

I saw several episodes in the mid 00's without subtitles and I still liked it.

Not sure if I'd like the more recent ones.

Used to love this show. Haven’t watched it in awhile though. I think it’s just because it was so earnest and genuine in its presentation it made it so much more likeable.

Yeah, by the looks of their hosting site, they stopped translating the show a while ago. Wonder what happened? :/

A comedian larping as a company employee is forced to finish very difficult video games with often hilarious and edge of your seat results. It's interspersed with different segments (all video game related) and is fairly charming for what it is

There's fairly substantial collections of it subtitled in English if you poke around the web long enough

Japanese comedy has always struck me as odd and very vaudevillian, with "Abbott & Costello" duos still being incredibly popular

I'd be tempted to rewatch his early years. That's the same kind of warm nostalgia when I see early AVGN episodes or any other pre-widescreen stuff from the web.

I didn't know this show, and since it is like 400 episodes now, it is not possible for me to start watching it. In addition, it didn't finish, and I never watch shows that didn't finish for good due to my brain ghosts.

It's a pity because seems fun.

Just think of seasons and don't force yourself to watch the full stuff.

Personally I go for the first two and probably specific games I wanted to see him play.

It's not serialized and you can honestly just pick and choose what episodes you want to watch at random. There are some secondary segments that have a through-line during seasons (like in season 5, Arino calls people who send him in letters to help him with the infamous "crap game" Super Monkey Daiboken)

All the twitch channels and the youtube channels that had them on there got blasted by copyright strikes. It sucks butt.

there is one in english.
in japan there are a bunch of dvd sets for it.

There was an attempt to localise the show at some point. This DVD set would be a good place to start. Just find a rip of it, it's out of print now.
