Welcome to the gu club I love this game this is my favorite battle system to the points I would rather max out my level and trade with another player before proceeding the story.

Since you are now in Vol 2 enjoy the ride.

It's a wild ride for sure, and I love the main character!

btw remember to finish all the side quests before moving on to vol 2, u get some sweet bonuses is u do the vol 1 and 2 side missions(doppelgangers) and carry over to vol 3

I thought it was alright myself, but then again, I'd played it like ten years after watching Roots and engaging with the rest of the series, so I guess I'd built up something impossible to live up to in my head. If anything I wished that Vol 1 actually picked up right after the end of Roots where Haseo had actually learned his lesson and wasn't a complete dick for about ten hours of game time, and had some of the characters like Saburou or Tohta show up to not feel like a soft reboot of events.

Do this. I'm pretty sure there'll be spoiler free guides on what to do out there. I can't remember if the "true" ending of Vol 3 hinges on 100% in all three.

The best part of the game(s) was learning all the ways to cheese them, like guard-cancelling with broadswords(you can do it with any weapon type but it's the most busted with broadswords), combine that with the doppelganger sword you can grab within the first half an hour of Vol 2 and things get really funny. Though I don't recommend using them until endgame as they make most other weapons in the game irrelevant, mostly because of their effects, because the multiplier forgable weapons get make them a decent chunk stronger.
