Funniest game/game franchise?

Not exactly a franchise, but I love anything made by this team.
My friend and I played Castle Crashers co-op not too long ago and we loved it! Battleblock Theatre is next on the agenda. True that it's probably not a franchise, but I still accept it. It's no different to me liking most Double Fine or LucasArts games.

i played this game like a year ago when the translation first dropped but rent a hero (dreamcast) is one of the funniest and charming games ive had the pleasure of playing. the game is full of 90s references and alot of jp media references too but its also just quite funny in general too

I dig it already hehe

My favorite lol:

Why it's so funny for me is the way GlaDOS is programmed to only care about puzzles therefore its sense of morality only in the context of what makes puzzles go okay and what breaks the puzzles so it cannot see how "bad person" it's by enforcing the BS puzzles like they matter. So oh the irony moment lol.

In later in the game and in 2nd game it make you realize why GlaDOS hates you is not because what you did to it, it's just because you don't care about the damn puzzles and you are going outside of what GlaDOS is programmed for. In surface it seems "yeah duh" but there is actually social criticism here.

People dislike you only when what you do is against of what they want you to do and outside of "what they can understand" despite they actually have no reason to hate you their demanding attitude due to their possessive tendency make them hate you when you don't care about living your life in the way they want. So in a way every people who couldn't grow up is just a GlaDOS and game further makes fun of it in 2nd game when despite GlaDOS "made smart" it's still an "idiot" because often people make themselves ignorant by focusing on binary subjective BS they enforce on themselves and others just to obey a rule just because without rules they would be in chaos lol.

In the end GlaDOS symbolizes any form of authority and in Portal context it's a country that eventually finds a way to "trash" you and in the end "salvation" of your character is being a "nomad" living in "nothingness" that also makes fun of "either way you are fucked in this life" lol.

So you are only a criminal in this world just because you broke a rule, not because you actually caused a harm for real because our current human civilization is a big complex mess of a baby just like GlaDOS lolol.
In the last chamber of the first game, you see her become increasingly agitated the more you go outside the established boundaries of the test chambers, until she eventually just snaps and decides to just 'screw puzzles, I'm just gonna kill you!'

I always envisioned a prequel set during when Cave Johnson was still running Aperture titled 'Portal: Make Lemonade.' (and as an added easter egg, there are combustible lemons as hazards).

time splitter future perfect
la pucelle ragnarok
la pucelle tactic
neighbours from hell
I've always wanted to try La Pucelle. Looks like it was in one of the NIS Classics collections that I missed out on a few years ago

you should try la pucelle i recomend la pucelle ragnarok since i find that version to be better
and more fun to play

la pucelle tactic is also good but is harder and more of a challenge

Fallout 1 and 2 have some of the funniest moments in games for me. Doing a low intelligence run on then is hilarious as all dialogue options change into dumb stuff. Overall I think crpgs are really funny, for example in KOTOR there are so many dialogue options to be a complete menace to society for no reason at all. Another game that comes to mind is Divinity 2 DKS which has so many silly situations and a mind reading power that allows for even more witty dialogue options.

For unintentionally funny I would vote Drakengard 1. The whole thing is so edgy and unhinged I found it hilarious. Ironically Drakengard 3 actually tried to be funny, but the humor just felt forced and lame. Kinda like how Deadly premonition 2 misunderstands the first game.

I have seen some great clips of low INT playthroughs of those Fallout games!
I get what you mean with Deadly Premonition 2 and Drakengard 3, although that's the only Drakengard game I've played.

Sly Cooper games
Ratchet and Clank series
Super Daryl Deluxe
Obviously the South Park games
Games from Drinkbox Studios tend to have a good sense of humor.
The Deception series from Tecmo. The gameplay itself is hilarious.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy game if you like MCU style humor
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is probably the funniest game outside of the rpgs because of the talking flowers.

I'd say the South Park games tbh

I am still surprised at how good The Stick of Truth & The Fractured But Hole were!

I forgot about Sly Cooper & Ratchet. Love those games.

Deception IV is so wacky, I'm shocked it's age-rating is so high.

As a french speaker, the character's names in la pucelle made me laugh so much ::rofl

I don't know if it counts since it's more like movies than games, but I found the Class of 09' serie very funny ::dkapproves
Yeah, I'd count that!

Have you played Tales of Graces f? I'm not a French speaker, but it delights me more than it probably should that there is a technologically-advanced ancient race of people who all have French names.
