I don't know if this feature is going to be implemented or not, but for now, if your browser has uBlock Origin extension, you can permanently hide (almost) any element in any site.
I sometimes use this feature myself on some sites.
There's probably other extensions with similar features too.
However, i'm not sure how feasible this method would be in mobile.
