Eggs benedict

You decide!!!!

It really depends on the context. If you’re asking which one is better, it’s probably the french toast. But if you’re asking which one I would actually eat for breakfast, I’d eliminate the french toast because I prefer savory breakfasts.

Savory french toast enters the conversation

french toast... cuz I know how to make it.. Id make it for my mom on her birthday.. im not sure on those eggs thingys.. are they good?

I reckon French toast is just the best and easy to do. This food is always a good choice. You can eat it sweet or with bacon. What more could you want.

French Toast, i dislike yolk on non beaten eggs, aside toast is the best form of bread ever! french toast feels like eating a mix of a waffle and toast with eggs

Both, I'm a growing dude gal.

Ingredients

For the Hollandaise sauce:

  • ▢ 4 Tablespoons butter
  • ▢ 4 egg yolks
  • ▢ 2 teaspoons lemon juice, , or lime juice
  • ▢ 1 Tablespoon heavy whipping cream
  • ▢ salt and pepper, (to taste)

Instructions

For the Hollandaise sauce:

  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan. In a separate small bowl, beat the egg yolks. Mix in lemon juice, whipping cream, and salt and pepper.
  • Add a small spoonful of the hot melted butter to the egg mixture and stir well. Repeat this process adding a spoonful at a time of hot butter to the egg mixture.( Adding the butter slowly, a spoonful at a time, will temper the eggs and ensure they don't curdle).
  • Once the butter has been incorporated, pour the mixture back into the saucepan. Cook on low heat, stirring constantly, for just 20-30 seconds. Remove from heat and set aside. It will thicken as it cools. Stir well and add another splash of cream, if needed, to thin.

To poach the eggs:

  • Fill a medium size pot with about 3 inches of water. Bring the water to a boil and then reduce heat until it reaches a simmer. You should see small bubbles coming to the surface but not rolling.
  • Add a little splash of vinegar to the water (this is optional, but it helps the egg white to stay together once it is in the water).
  • Crack one egg into a small cup (I use a measuring cup). Lower the egg into the simmer water, gently easing it out of the cup.
  • Cook the egg in simmering water for 3-5 minutes, depending on how soft you want your egg yolk. Remove the poached egg with a slotted spoon.
  • **It is not abnormal for a white foam to form on top of the water when poaching an egg. You can simple skim the foam off of the water with a spoon.
  • While the egg is cooking, place the slices of Canadian bacon in a large pan and cook on medium-high heat for about 1 minute on each side.

To Assemble:

  • Toast the English muffin. Top each toasted side with a slice or two of Canadian bacon, and then a poached egg. Top with hollandaise sauce.

Ingredients
▢ 4 large eggs
▢ 2/3 cup milk
▢ 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
▢ 1/4 cup granulated sugar
▢ 1/4 teaspoon salt
▢ 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
▢ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
▢ 8 thick slices bread

Instructions

Preheat griddle to 350 degrees F or or heat a skillet over medium heat.

In a blender, add the eggs, milk, flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and vanilla. Blend until smooth. If you prefer whisking by hand, start by mixing the flour and eggs together in a shallow dish, then whisk in the rest of the ingredients until combined.

Dip bread slices into the batter, dredging them well on both sides, and place on hot, greased griddle or skillet.

Cook for a few minutes, until the bottom of the breads starts to get golden brown. Flip and cook on the other side the same.

Remove to a plate. Serve warm with syrup and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

Ingredients:
6 lemons
1 and 1/4 cup of sugar
5 cups of water

Instructions:

Wash lemons. If waxy, scrub under hot water. -Note: No changes; scrubbed waxy lemons under hot water.

Peel zest with a vegetable peeler (yellow part, some white pith is okay). -Note: Used a zest grater instead and collected all zest in a bowl.

Toss zest with sugar, cover, and let sit for 2–12 hours. -Note: I let the zest-sugar mix sit for 2 days, though overnight is sufficient.

Bring 5 cups of water to a boil, then turn off heat. -Note: Kept the heat on for the next step instead of turning it off. Also juiced lemons into a bowl. If no juicer, squeeze lemons by hand, then use end of a wire whisk to extract more juice.

Add lemon-sugar mix (with peel) to water and let sugar dissolve. -Note: Added both the zest-sugar mix and juiced lemon rinds to the water, then boiled for about 7 minutes.

Strain to remove peel. -Note: Used a fine mesh strainer to remove pulp, peels, and zest.

Let sugar water cool to room temperature (about 30 minutes).

Cut lemons in half, squeeze juice into a separate bowl through a strainer. -Note: Already juiced lemons in Step 4, so this step was combined earlier.

Mix cooled sugar water with lemon juice.

Serve over ice

Anyone who choses eggs benedict is either a liar or has not experienced French toast.

Yes, I said experienced, you don't just "eat" or "taste" French toast.

If I was a mod I would lock this thread and declare only one true choice exists!!

FRENCH TOAST!!!!

(For real, I'd love some French toast right now::sailor-embarrassed)

I have been summoned to defend the superiority of Eggs Benedict against an army of miscreants.
Avast, toast worshipping infidels !
1 point for Eggs Benedict, especially Salmon Benedict. When the egg yolk and the creamy, vinegary hollandaise gloriously mix with the oily salmon or the smoky bacon and soak into that soft white muffin... it's divine.

salmon?.. hollandaise sauce?... yeah no.. I was open to learning, but now Im retreating back into the warm folds of the french toast family... hollandaise? is that the stuff in chicken cordon bleu? if so, okay, Ill except that one but not on eggs until I try it.. but salmon? ugh.. thats always been my bane, even though my mom loves it..

I will totally go along with that.. but I have to try this eggs benedict thing first.... or get really drunk
It's egg and bacon (thick ham in some places) so honestly what is not to like there, it is close to the perfect combo.

Poached eggs yes but I loved eggs done in any way. The sauce is nice but salad cream works just as well.

I love french toast. I use wholemeal bread and quite a bit of ketchup ontop.

You're supposed to use Brioche bread, and maple syrup with bacon and/or fruit
