Done Freeze forum ranks?

I know it's a pretty silly request, but it would be nice if forum ranks could be selected regardless of the number of posts (that is, if a rank was previously earned, it could be selected for display purposes only.

We do have Custom Ranks, but I'm not sure if they are available for everyone.

I would certainly agree with you but I like my “mini boss” rank xD (for some reason it’s not being displayed even though I reached the message count for it)

I'd rather suggest a dropown selection of gained/acquired ranks and you can switch between which one you want to be using, or auto (latest)

This is not something that exist in any form in this forum software. It's beyond my knowledge too.
It will only be possible with an experienced Xenforo developer made a custom add-on.

The easiest solution would be to likely just let people edit their own titles in (assuming it's already there). Then it would get pulled when it pulls the image to display for the avatar and just populate.

Currently you either have
a) use score -> calculate and use pre-determined title
or
b) score exceeds value -> modify title in user profile, then display that title when profile is pulled up.

I wish I can set my own title. Like a "The Nobody" or "Gamer Girl" instead of "Novice Adventurer"? And even if it will be possible to change title once and for all. But let it be.

Custom ranks would be nice, yeah. Forum level could be expressed by the quantity or color of gems, rather than text.

It's a visual representation of your level.

I'm starting to think having more than 7 levels is a bit too much (visually) that's when it becomes a double line of diamonds.
Also having too many colors like @Additional Damage is also too much.
It's fun for a bit but when you have to look at it all the time...not so much.

I too prefer a more conservative approach when it comes to colors. If they are going to get used at all, I'd choose very distinctive ones or go with shapes instead (for the benefit of people with varied color perception needs).

Disclaim: Honestly i have had zero experience in XenForo before today... READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Well, i have checked the free demo of XenForo.
First, Congratulations! ?
Their demo has many glitches while this site doesn't have any!

Second:
It seems both requested features are actually possible without needing any extra plugins.
I mean both the dropdown-list version and textbox version for rankings.
I just tested it successfully in their demo. both saving and displaying worked correctly.

Using just textbox should be more straight forward. you can use custom user fields for it.

same for dropdown-list with always fixed values.

but a dropdown-list with conditional items needs some manual template writing.
you can make each item visible depending on if certain conditions are met, eg reaching a certain score or such.

you can even make textbox version earnable if you want using same conditional templating method.

but there's some details and quirks.
i can send you a clean and working version if you like. but it takes a bit more time, and i'm currently passing out.

People worry about ranks a bit too much. It’s just a title at the end of the day.
