I was a little bit sick a few weeks ago. I had sneezing and coughing fits for a few days, which naturally lead to a sore throat and a headache. I'm much better now, but I did change up my diet while I was sick. I had the usual: A lot of soup with vegetables and plain wholegrain toast on the side, creamy pasta such as Macaroni or Carbonara, orange juice.

This was when I also discovered, and started eating more regularly, pre-packaged oats. A simple little thing: pour the contents into a bowl with some milk, and heat in the microwave for 2 minutes. Lovely, cozy and warm. It worked wonders for my sore throat.

I also like to keep a cold bottle of Aloe Vera drink in the fridge when I have a sore throat. It's one of the pricier drinks in my local supermarkets, so I usually only drink it when I'm sick, but it also does wonders on a sore throat.

I guess maybe this might count as comfort food? idk? But anyway, what foods do y'all seek out when you feel sick?

Throughout my childhood mom drilled it into my head that you have to get yourself some chicken soup whenever you're sick and to this day that's always where my mind goes: Chicken soup, specifically with alphabet noodles.

It's definitely just a me thing, but I always feel better once I've had a bowl.

Where I live you can usually get pretty tasty pre-made soup like this in mason jars in most supermarkets - add some alphabet noodles in there, heat it up for a couple minutes and you've got yourself a veritable (psychosomatic) panacea.

I used to chug down industrial amounts of Gatorade and granola bars (all my mom's doing).

Nowadays, I try to eat the least offensive things possible for a sensitive stomach: white rice, vegetable soup, powder juice...

For me, Homemade tomato Soup and Hot Chocolate. Especially homemade for the latter.

My go-to stew for several years has been nikujaga. It's a beef and potato stew cooked with soy sauce, mirin, and dashi—for those unaware, dashi is a type of stock with a fish and kelp base and mirin is a slightly sweet rice wine meant for cooking. The end texture is tender and warm with bits of crisp snow pea pods that are added in near the end to preserve their crunchiness.

It's a versatile stew, so you can add pretty much whatever you've got on hand. In my experience, it's common to see variations with carrots, parsnips, noodles, pork (instead of beef), onions, sweet potato, etc. Simple to make and very tasty!

This one a kinda like a traditional comfort food here. Whenever I’m feeling under the weather so to speak I really crave for this one.

It’s chicken macaroni soup, this one is an all time Filipino comfort food not only that it’s sometimes served during special occasions and festivities.

Oh boy as someone who is quite often sick you ask the right person with that question.
Well for me its Knäckebrot

its probably very dry bread and some Ginger Tea and Fenchel and Kamille Tea is what I drink also a lot of water is highly advised.
Soup is also good especially Linsensuppe as it is light food for the stomach Chicken soup is probably also good I also hate a lot of nuts but those are well depending on the person some to stomach them quite well while others don't stomach it that good.

ComoSince I'm sick, I can't eat anything that's even interesting. My mother used to make things like chicken with chayote, carrots, and potatoes, but now that he's sick, she can't make that anymore.
Well I hope she gets better soon 🙏
