Thanks
btw i never finished Megami 1, i think i drop game on that fire floor, only SMT game that i dropped
But i do like Nakajima as a character, mostly because of OVA
Ah fair I've only watched a bit of OVA but it seems okay so far. I do want to read the original books though

I think Knuckles being "the last of his kind" is a much better narrative for him imo.

Nakajima is a genius evil schizo femboy who brought world to apocalypse. Good stuff
From what i know only first book is translated, but it also the best one

Yes it's much better, most of Penders ideas and characters are bad, except maybe few

I think Sonic Adventure, following the Japanese lore, made it clear with the events of the game in the past.

But I'm wondering if that sub-plot was done because of Penders or if it was coincidental.

Penders 100%
He joined Archie very early, and later he got Knuckles spin off comic when he was main writer and start doing his echidna fanfiction
Later on when spin off was canceled he inject all of it in main archie sonic

Yeah it really should have been time travel or something like what Tikal did to show everyone what happened before Sonic Adventure.

i snorted at this not gonna lie
What's funnier is that Ken didn't even create one of these characters lol

I agree or if they're evil like in Dark Chronicles or Fleetway with Dr. Zackery at least imo

Fleetway sonic, I grew up with that, it was amazing. I tried the archie comics years later and those are okay, I much, much prefer Archies Megaman, that was pretty great.

My early childhood was spent reading Fleetway Sonic and watching Adventures of Sonic the hedgehog on VHS tape. These days I played and loved mania, not so much anything else, I feel Sonic team has kinda sh*t the bed too many times for me to be anything other than a nostalgia fan at this stage ::cirnoshrug

I read this entire series many, many years ago. And I loved it, they were absolutely crazy and it is absolutely hilarious to post out of context panels of it.

Kinda sucks that most people know it because of Super Sonic, when there was a whole arc where Robotnik was couped by one of his robots, one where Metal Sonic rebelled and formed an entire cult, one where Robotnik became a god, Tails had a whole arc where he learned to be independent, Knuckles had an arc where he had to replace the master emerald.

Haven't read Fleetway but always wanted to. I did read through a good bit of Archie up to... I think the weird ass introduction of Geoffrey St. John, the grown ass skunk man that rizzes up teenager Sally Acorn.

When I type it out like that, it really makes me think Geoffrey was some shitty self insert.

Wish the comics would've made the character grow up over time.

But either way, that guy was badly drawn and he's an obvious self insert.

Ken wasn't very good at drawing the Sonic characters but he was good at drawing humans

For as bad and cheesey the archie comics were, I'm still glad they exist. Same with Fleetway, though I think Fleetway was hitting closer to the 90s edge that I was getting from the other sega output. The Fleetway guys might have been bigger fans of the source material.

Even the worst of the Penders stuff, I don't think was any worse than other comics coming out around it. forgive me the tautology ere but i really like Archie as "what if Sonic were a Comic in the style fo the comics it came out around."
