It really was an incredible turn around, I remember getting this for PS4 day 1, a refund following day lol to then re-buying it on PS5 some time later and loving it.

Oh yeah i remember this game when it dropped , everyone was so hyped to see this game , taking graphics to the next step and an insanely detailed world even more so than GTA 5.

I remember dying of laughter at the bugs complations that followed well it was such an embarrassment but 5 years later and after an expansion pack and an anime here we are , the game is fixed now but the bad reputation it left i think will forever remain part of the game.

It is worth saying that with cyperpunk2077 awful release the trend of half baked games being released as finished products became a thing.

Probably one of the biggest gaming turnarounds I've ever seen. I remember playing Cyberpunk near launch and the game being borderline unplayable, and now in it's current state it's one of my favorite AAA games of this era.

I was so hyped for this game; I got so extremely high to play it when it installed on launch day ::sailor-embarrassed
My GTX 1060 did everything it could; I tweaked the game precisely so it could run the best it could at 30FPS and I had a blast; though the discourse was so toxic I kept to myself for years. (Seems to be the case with every single high profile release on PC)

After they launched patch 2.0 and rebalanced the game, I replayed it and finished it properly. What an exceptional game though a bit static for my tastes in terms of interactivity. The story, themes and soundtrack were a standout; the gameplay was delicious especially as a hacking samurai.

I hope the sequel addresses these problems but that's a long way from now.

Nomad was and still is, the worst route/faction/lifepath and missions in that game. I don't want to play hillbilly California; got enough of that in real life and GTA5,

I remember playing it on PC at release and experiencing almost no bugs.
Apparently I was one of the lucky ones?

I think CD Projekt Red got screwed over by the investors that forced them to release it on platforms like PS4 that it shouldnt have been on, and release it before it was fully ready.

I'm so glad to see that it turned it all around. Great game.

I didn't either but I didn't push my machine so it was stable throughout. Went through the settings very carefully before launching it. Mine was the GOG version because it was $30 cheaper than the Steam one ::peacemario

I'm looking forward to pirating it one day when I can spare one million gigabytes ::firgirlsmirk
I will always support piracy.
But CD Projekt Red is a pretty great company imo. Might be worth actually buying.

This is the state of gaming as of 2015 onwards.

Investors want their returns ASAP, quality of the game be damned.

Like many things, when investors get hold of something, things tend to become shit

It's the opposite for me in this particular instance.
They fucked that launch up so hard you couldn't threaten me to pay for it, even when people claim they salvaged it or whatever.

It's just 60!
It's the true cyberpunk way to illegally download it on one trillion floppies while popping pills

Hrmmmmmm I fell for the hype and got just after launch. My pc ran it fine, I even got to see the shiny RT effects at work. Some buggy moments but overall nothing game breaking.

Am I the only one who thinks the fourth, "secret", end route is the only good part of the game? I only played with pistols and doing that part (as someone who is essentially Revolver Ocelot) was really exhilarating. Didn't have any heath or armour enhancements so I could only take 2 hits before going down. The gun fights that happened were ones that I wished existed in the main game.

From Meme to be laughed at to memorable game, that and No Man's Sky make clear that modern gaming still has some hope, cheers for the birthday Samurai

I bought the collectors edition on launch day, tried to "play" it for a while but it was a mess. It had great ideas and maybe it's much better now, but I gave up on it and should revisit it. I did the same thing with No mans sky when it came out and it apparently turned into a great game. I just expect a good experience from day one and not a "buy the beta version and test it for full price until we make it a good game" experience. A lot of people have limited time to game and when we do use that time, we deserve fully developed games. Otherwise I just hacked my psp and ds and n64 and play old bootlegged shit that never lets me down.

Also, happy holidays everyone.

It´s a damn great game and they did make a good turn around and fixed and solved allot of things. But I will say this just like no man sky. We must not allow this kind of things to keep happening. We should not have to pay full price for a game when it comes out and wait 5+ years for it to become what it was supposed to be from the start.

We should still hold hello games and CDPR accountable and remind them if they make a new game don´t make the same mistake again. If they game is not ready just delay it I rather you delay it then release it..

Also companies need to quit announcing games before it´s even close to done. If you work on a game work on it till you can at least you know it´s ready for the market then announce it.

Don´t be dumb and do a Bethesda where you announce your game with a trailer and it´s not done for another 5-10 years. I mean they released a teaser 2018 it´s not 2025 and the game is probably not finished until 2027-2029.

The hype you made will be dead and stone cold before the game is out.

But yeah Cyberpunk is great but I will not praise CDPR because the game should have been like it is now on launch not 5 years later.

Take a look at the original 2013 presser material and proof of concept trailer. The game they advertised was never released and never will be. The present game is an improvement of the failed launch of something nobody ever asked for, which is a rather generic open world FPS.

Maybe it's because I went into it with zero expectations or hype but even on launch I really liked the game

Liked it even day 1. I didn't care about the glitches, I was having fun. Being in world like that was what I'd always wanted. I'm still playing it now.

So my question is, when it first released, and SO many people returned the game back to where they bought it; are physical first prints rare? Sites were making it sound like buses full of people were returning it.
