Oh yeah put that hyphen between those words!

My first was Batman Arkham Knight for the Xbox one, bought straight from the Microsoft store. My copy is all beat up now but that just means it’s been well loved. I’m gonna need to replay it once I get a series x (eventually).

we love dem hyphens!

mine was Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII. Came with a decent book, some nice hardcover

Final Fantasy VIII for PSX! I've played the demo before and immediatly fell in love. I remember going to my local video game store to pre-order it (at the time it was just a reservation for when it came out haha)

This was the demo:

I think it was Xenoblade Chronicles? I followed the campaign to have it released in the US and there was no way I was missing out on getting a copy.
...Although it also could have been some Pokemon game to get a mystery gift. Hard to say.

Can’t remember, been over a decade. I try not to pre order stuff anymore. *proceeds to go place a pre-order on Yakuza Pirate*

Dragon age 2 for the 360... Man. I was young and foolish. DA origins was good as hell though at the time. Good things are not meant to last however...

Devil May Cry 5, I think it released on a friday but I remember pulling an all-nighter to play it, it was even a school day.

I actually never did that.

I usually either wait until a game has been out a while before getting my hands on it, especially if a friend happened to get it first. But normally I just wait until it goes on sale for the price of a sandwich and/or the reviews are consistent enough for me to feel comfortable dropping money on it.

That said, I really wanted to pre-order Pokemon SoulSilver for the little figurines they gave you (or so I read) for doing so.

I think the only game I ever 'pre-ordered' was Smash Ultimate - and even then it was just a digital purchase made a month or so before it came out; I just wanted to pre-install so I could play it as soon as it dropped.

Shame it sucks.

I very rarely do. It happened lots of times that I went in and bought a game on release day, though, but I think the first time I pre-ordered something was Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but I'm not entirely sure. It might have been way later.

Nowadays I usually wait until at least release day, unless it's something I'm convinced I'll love and and to make sure I get a physical version on time if I want one.

One was Nier Automata for the PS4 the pre order came with some accessories including this one:

Even to this day I still use that mask.
I also remember accompanying my brother to buy a new copy of Naruto Storm 3 it came with the Goku costume

That was the first game I ever did a Pre order.

None lol. But I was this close to pre-ordering Cyberpunk. Glad I didn't.

As far as I remember, LittleBigPlanet 2 was the very first time. I never regret it although... I wish I could've grabbed the collector's edition instead.
