First game of 2026 + Gaming plans

i played the original tenchu on PS1 didnt know sega had any involvement in it. Getting shinobi vibes off the youtube video ive watched.
Originally Activision published the game outside Japan. After From Software bought the franchise in 2004.SEGA struck a publishing deal therefore being the one to publish the series internationally while From Software is the one who publish it in Japan.

in the 2000s i was too busy hammering GTA3 burnout 3 Gran Tourismo 3 A Spec and PES 6 and tekken tag tournament that was literally the 5 games i played i wish i had more expansive outlook in the 2000s its good being 40 and being able to play wii gamecube and dreamcast and have a lot of fun.

When the clock hits 00:05, it’ll be time for Half-Life 2.

I started it with .hack Infection and it's quite the banger, I just gotta love old Y2K internet futurism thematics and digital worlds.

For this year I want to dive into a lot of JRPG and racing franchises, specially:

-Kingdom Hearts
-dot hack
-Xenosaga
-Xenoblade
-Yakuza
-Star Ocean
-Super Robot Wars
-Disgaea

(I'm insane for choosing the series of hundred hours content and a lot of entries with barely any time to waste)

And perhaps a Gran Turismo to understand cars better (racing fan here that has barely played any games with actual cars in them and just a ton of f-zero and sonic racing stuff, big fraud I know ::omgdoom)

Finally got around to setting up Doukutsu-RS with the Switch graphics, running it at 120 fps and having a grand old time. I'm mostly a JRPG guy, but other than FF14 and some games I received for XMAS (Trails 1st and Digimon Time Stranger) I think I wanna take a major step back from RPGs for a while and enjoy some other genres, been thinking about replaying the Megaman series (og, x, zero and zx) in full this year and maybe actually finish some of my indie backlog.

the first game im gonna play this year is my second playthrough of armored core 6 but this time on pc with my new flight control stick i got for Christmas!!!

so far its really disorienting since my whole life, the left stick/buttons are to move and the right stick/mouse are to look but now the movement and looking are both on the right hand with extra keyboard buttons on the right.
hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon!!

(actually i just realized technically the first game I've played this year is jack box 11)

As per tradition, I wanted to replayed Armored Core PS1 Trilogy*, OG King's Field, and some random game I found that usually shitter one in April as "Old World Project". I have beat the first AC Kneeling-Only Challenge, so I'm thinking going Rocket-Only (unfinished challenge) while streaming, if I can be bother to setup my OBS again.

*the truth is I usually skip Master of Arena lol

On August as part of "New World Project" where I tried to beat video game(s) I never heard of within a month, this year will feature Koudelka, and Spriggan: Lunar Verse or Life Line (this one kinda cheating since I know it from Jerma985, but I did not watch his playthrough).

And then to close the year (Oct-Nov-Dec) by again replaying my favorite, Armored Core: for Answer, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, and Casino Inc. (clearing all scenario), with fitting name as "End of the World Project".

In the meantime, I'm just going to keep playing Monster Hunter Rise, and Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising.

Because @Waffles had discussed Half-Life earlier, I installed Team Fortress 2 and when the hand struck past midnight that was the game I was still playing. So I guess that's my new years game!

Dot hack is amazing by the way! Did you know they made a parody episode of .hack//sign officially?

I thinking to start Sakura Wars 2 or continue Dragon Quest VI but... at same time, I feel that I will start the year with certain Capcom game with Samurais and Demons instead

Started off the year by playing Rent a Hero on the Mega Drive. I just paid my rental fee for the suit in game!
🥲

I didn't plan on it, but Borderlands 4 happened to be the first game I've played so far this year. Put a good 8 or so hours in today :)
