FE3: Heroes of Light is a modern retranslation, relocalization and UI improvement patch for the SNES remake of FE1 that combines and improves upon (thus superseding) every previous effort.

Author(s): RobertTheSable, Lopo, flasuban, KrashBoomBang, CedAoth
Version: 1.0
Date: 12th of March, 2025 (presumably)
Source: https://feuniverse.us/t/fe3-heroes-...d-modern-translation-localization-patch/28702

This game is a remake (Book 1) and sequel to (Book 2) to Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi (Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light).

Gameplay is a turn based tactical RPG, a fairly simple one at that. As weapon triangle got introduced in FE 4, this game lacks it. Just move and attack.

Some formulas to remember:
Damage= ATK/MAG minus DEF/RES
Attack Speed (AS) = SPD – Weapon Weight
Double (x2) Attacks = 3+ more AS than your enemy

This game DOES NOT work on ZSNES 1.42 and 1.51, the battle animations crash. Use Snes9x for perfect compatibility.

RB's Note: Seriously... don't use ZSNES for anything anymore.

Hackers/modders often give unclear descriptions: "This is A. B is an improvement to the remake of C. This (B or A?) is a remake of D^1 and a sequel to E^2 of F." lol.

Moderators, it might help to label the Heroes of Light file to something like "Fire Emblem - Monshou no Nazo (Japan) [Heroes of Light v1.0]" if I understand it.

Crap. New patch dropped the same weekend I finished the game.
It's... Quite Ok. If you play this one you don't need to play the NES original. There's one or two things missing from Book 1 (the NES original) but the stuff they add in is worth skipping the NES version. And Book 2 is a lot better than Book 1.
Still, I'm starting FE4 today and I still haven't understood why people give a rat's tushus over this franchise. They say Geneology is the best one, so fingers crossed it sells me into the franchise; so far, all I see is Why it wasn't brought to the west back in the day.
I haven't played Genealogy much, but I can tell you it shakes up the formula in a few ways and it feels kind of slow going. If you don't like Fire Emblem, this won't be the game to change your mind.

oh yeah, you are totally right, sorry for bothering, i didn't notice the font change on the weapon menu and thought they might be from the older patch.
Oh it's no bother, the change is really subtle (and honestly I wish they would use the dialogue font in menus).
