I find myself getting into a bad habit of playing newly released games but not finishing them. Worse, the fact that I will be close to the end of whatever campaign or story and just...stop. And it's not like I hate the games, I truly enjoy them. It's like a switch in my head that flips off after a while then I find myself retro gaming for a while til I buy a new game and continue the weird cycle. This year alone I haven't finished a playthrough of WWE 2K25 MyRise & the Bloodline story, Pirate Yakuza I abruptly stopped, Hell is Us I made a considerable amount of progress solving the mysteries & puzzles and weirdly enough it's been over a month and still know where I need to go next but haven't picked it back up. And currently playing Ghost of Yōtei which I find myself taking a break from despite really loving the game from the story to the gameplay. Not a single year that I can say was a "bad year" for gaming for me but I am seeing myself doing this more often.
In between all of that as I stated before, I go back to retro gaming as a comfort til I find another new game to play. I don't know why I do it but I do it. Is it an attention span thing? Is it some weird form of procrastination? Is it a need for not wanting "the story" to end? Or a combo of all of that? idk. I think the only solace I have with it is that again, I really enjoy these games anyway and I have the feeling I'm not the only one with this type of pattern/habit. I know there's more folks like me out there so maybe it's a sign of the times? Again, idk.
Anyway, thru all of this my goofy a$$ wants to buy the new Digimon game. I need some help
