FFVIII-Waixing.jpg

A bunch of new chinese bootleg games were discovered and dumped recently, but we still don't know shit about them, except that they're all from Waixing. It's interesting to notice Squall is blonde here, making him closer to Amano's original concept arts! I couldn't win a single combat in this game, so that's why the screenshots are so from the beginning. It started with Squall in the enfermary at least, so maybe it's more like that NES FFVII "demake", you know? And less like that FFIX GBC random beat 'em up game. I hope someone translated it soon, it seems […]

I thought I knew all the major chinese bootleg demakes but this one is new to me.

Anybody have any idea when this was first dumped/passed around the internet? I'm shocked I never heard about this before.

Wow! I didn't know that the Famous JRPG game that we all know from the PS1 version also had a Game Boy Color version although this version is very different in itself and that is also considered a bootleg but this does not look bad.

Thankfully Vampire Hunter D had black hair I can't imagine him any other way
I am a Cinematographer by trade if there's one Anime I think would be INSANE to film in Live Action its the Sequel - Bloodlust... (or a different chunk of the series from the Manga) Plus I have seen cosplays that had me blown away like Carmila in real life can you imagine? I can I'd love to shoot it if rights and stuff weren't a nightmare. Who would I get to play D? Robert Pattison maybe? Cant be an unknown you need a "star" to get a big enough budget... who would you cast?

i remember hearing that the guy who came up with vampire hunter d wanted him to look like the singer phill colins, if i remember correctly. i think i heard about that in an episode of anime abandon about the first vampire hunter d movie.

What's with these? Do they follow all the major story beats? I remember seeing FF7 on NES at some point and I feel like it generally looked like it did.
so far in my playthrough of ff7 nes, it has been following the story beats. i presume that it probably shortens the story down to some extent, since ff7 for the psx is about almost 2gbs in size; and ff7 nes is 2mb in size.

"It's interesting to notice Squall is blonde here, making him closer to Amano's concept arts!"

i remember reading that the official artwork for final fantasy comes after the in-game sprites and 3d models are made; because if they did it the other way around, nearly every character would be blonde. amano very rarely draws a character with any other hair color besides yellow or white. never read any explanation about that, so i guess that yellow is his favorite hair color.
