There's been some hype surrounding this mod that made the rounds in the past two years. What I haven't seen circulate is that the devs behind it released a playable demo version in December 2023, and just released an updated demo version yet again this past December. So far it includes a battle in Narshe, the Phantom Train, and the Floating Continent.

A dev going by Conman has posted the most recent version as an edit to their original thread on FF Hacktics, so the .ppf patch is available to download in the very first post in the thread: https://ffhacktics.com/smf/index.php?topic=13070.msg233073

It can be applied to an .iso of the original PS1 Final Fantasy Tactics with PPF-o-matic: https://ffhacktics.com/smf/index.php?topic=9379.0

I spliced together some quick cover art attached to this post.

It seems this has been up for some time, now. Nevertheless, it is exciting.

It seems to be a hack for the Playstation version only.
Correct, there are a lot more conversion mods focused on the PS1 version than PSP, even though that's my preferred version with the multiplayer. But this would still technically be playable on PSP with POPS.

Oh wow this looks cool too bad it's never gonna be finished wake me up when it is

First time seeing this romhack. Can i play this game start to finish and get a ending?

No, at this time it is a demo with a few sample levels to try. There may be a little intro and outro for it but it's not the full game. The dev's vision is basically a series of the highlight battles of FFVI, so probably no world map.
It is still getting annual updates at least, the first demo version came out in December 2023 and then they released a new one this past December.

I'm so beyond pumped for this. I didn't know they were developing it further. Thought it was just a fun little proof of concept. God bless all these beautiful hackers.
