Final Fantasy Thread

I think it was FF8 and FF9 that started development at around the same time. Nomura/Nojima on FF8 and Sakaguchi and his team in Hawaii on FF9 while he was working on the Spirits Within. Sakaguchi was dissapointed with the direction that Final Fantasy was going towards with a more futuristic, realistic sci-fi theme so he made FF9 chibi and medieval as a response.

You didn't happen to be born until after the year 2000, did you
I guess that sorta explains all these strange fact mix-ups but it also kinda doesn't, as the information is all readily available online.
nope. early 90's.
it was months ago when i checked on this when several people were discussing the psx games and i did some checking on the dev times and release times. these games had very short amounts of times to be made before release. and it seems like the development times become more of a problem as you go down the list of games. 13, 15 and type 0 started development between 2004 and 2006 and released years apart but 15 is the only one that is mildly well liked.
and this isn't taking into account other games and projects being made at the same time. i'm looking up games made by square soft and they had 14 games come out the same year as final fantasy 1. and 16 games came out between ff6 and ff7. granted, that was three years between those 2 games; but that is a small amount of games to come out either with their full involvement or partial help in addition to working on their launch title for a brand new system with 3 graphics and a cd based format.
with all that and restarting twice due to swapping platforms, i'm surprised that the game launches and can be beaten.

Well aside from creative clashes the jump from PS2 to PS3 in the new age of HD graphics was a headache formany developers, I say the only reason Dragon Quest releases stay smooth is from both a set in stone design in art style and tone and audience expectations not being as volatile.

and because it stayed on the Nintendo DS for half a decade or more, a Japan exclusive MMO for shits n giggles as well.

A headcanon of mine:

Power scaling goes down the more you stray from Final Fantasy 1 warriors of the light and garland/chaos are in this headcanon the strongest characters basically think of chaos able to lift a finger and he can snap kuja neck :loldog in a way this makes me feel FF1 events have more "weight" to them since the power and capabilities you are talking about surpass everything else in the more shiny FF7 or FF9 stuff.

it's happened again. the insane madman has made another final fantasy video.
Aw hell no not this game

no, de-make. it was ff7 on the nes.
i need to get back to the tactics game. i was having some issues with my controller. no idea what the problem was but i switched to a new controller and really haven't had any issues with it other than the d pad is a bit sensitive.

I'm playing Live A Live for my article coming soonTM

Maybe in the next century...

The hell is that? Live A? Next century? Say next week for 100 balamb garden hotdogs? Deal?

Live A Live is a 1994 role-playing video game developed and published by Square for the Super Famicom. A remake was published by Square Enix in Japan and Nintendo worldwide, releasing first for Nintendo Switch in 2022, and the following year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows. The game follows seven distinct scenarios scattered across different time periods, with two more unlockable scenarios linking the narratives together through the recurring antagonist Odio. Gameplay is split between exploration with story-specific twists, and turn-based combat played out on a grid.

How many RPG games you want to make square?

Square: yes

yeah, there's 2 versions, the original chinese one and a updated version that better reflects the graphics of ff7.
i play roms primarily on my computer or 3ds.
Why would anyone demake a PS1 game i cant understand.

Emulation on PC on the other hand man it would feel weird to play FF with keyboard

some one did a demake of, i think it was bloodborne for the ps1. gta has a demake on the dreamcast.
people do weird things.
yeah, it is very weird to play on a keyboard. that's why i use controllers. i was using a nintendo switch pro controller until it started acting up; now i'm using a third party ps3 controller.

Squaresoft is a crazy company. That's why I'm writing an article series on them, the topics never end.
I know right everytime i think i got to the Bottom of their games list something pops up makes me wonder how many people worked there cuz the amount of good games with unique systems and ideas really surprises me like how can one possibly be doing this.....

I swear it doesn't feel right to switch a game from 3d to 2d i mean transferring stuff from 2d to 3d is something but backwards? That's crazy! Saw Diablo 2 demake somewhere here now why would anyone demake D2 of all games is beyond me like how can you mount all the stuff in it and use some ancient hordaradric technology to get this game to function on an NES? , it would be very weird to use arrows on keyboard to toggle between moves Final Fantasy on PC is cursed no way around it

yeah, it is weird. some people do thing just because they can.
square enix disagrees with you since starting with ff7, most of the final fantasy games have a pc port made for them at some point. they skipped 10 and 12 until recently, but 7,8,9, 13 and 15 have pc ports come out not too long after the console release, and the ff7 reimagining games have pc ports as well.
