An extensive hack that improves upon the SNES version of FF5 in several important ways, ranging from bugfixes, usability, UI, user experience all the way to graphics.

Do note, however that this is primarily a difficulty hack, and it expects you to make the best use of the knowledge and resources the game confers to you. Enemies and bosses are sometimes replaced by those from other entries of the franchise.

Eh, I hate difficulty hacks - they basically boil down to the hacker tripling hp and damage, giving bosses cheese attacks and acting like they've done something cool.
Yeah, dev flexing in this regard is a common pitfall, I agree.

What kind of filter are you using in this game? (emulator)
My guess is that it is a smoothing filter like HqX or 2xsai.

I think there's contradictory statement in the description, to my understanding at least.

Super Deep Clean – jobs have 3 CUSTOM Ability slots; ITEM IS THE 4th ABILITY.
Super Special Deep Clean – As above, and all jobs have 3 CUSTOM Ability slots; Job’s SPECIAL ABILITY is the 1st one
Super Special Double Deep Clean – AS ABOVE

So, if you have both item as well as job ability forcibly added, by the sound of it, how can you end up with 3 custom slots? Unless there's 5 slots total, but then wouldn't it be 4 free slots in the other descriptions?

Just looking for some clarification or pointing out a potential mistake to be fixed.
It basically means each version incrementally adds from what the other has. I can amend the description for clarity later.

Alright, I finally understood what was wrong with this hack and basically, it's because it's not a simple hack of FFV, but a hack of a hack of a hack of FFV. In a sense, it was stated in plain sight, but also hidden under three layer of recursive links. Basically, this is actually what he state he is, a QOL/improvements hack... but for the english translation of ANOTHER FFV hack, that one: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1408/

FFVr (for Remix I guess) is a 2012 japanese romhack that's is basically a difficulty hack that changes a lot of things and bring some more from others franchise's games.

So, yeah, THIS IS NOT A VANILLA+ HACK, this is a QOL hack from another Difficulty Hack. If you want a proper Vanilla+ hack, go for Pixel Freemaster.

I checked the Romhackingplaza page and even the hack's Github, and there's no mention anywhere of some bosses swaping of any sort. That's weird.
Really? strange. Normally the documents for such hacks are thorough.

I could amend the description, I've nothing against doing that.

Edit: I apologize for the description not being accurate, there. I always try my best to make it so, but the fact it is actually a difficulty hack flew over my head until I re-read the entry at the source. I didn't mean to mislead users or misconstrue the hack.
Not a huge deal, no need. I went to the Romhacking page myself to download it and missed it being hardtype entirely. But yeah, good to know.

I've tried this hack: no, this isn't an improvenment in any way imaginable. This is a difficulty hack. The second Boss is Carnazzo from Final Fantasy IV, who can paralyze multiple party members in just a turn and kill everyone with one attack (I mean, you can stop him with thunder, yes, but it's down to luck). Could someone tell me how this improves on the original version? The fireship Boss is the other FFIV fire-fiend dude, too, who is just as unbalanced as the first. So, if this improves on the original game, why is it like this?

Honestly, I'm more pissed at the way the description is written than the way the hack plays: just don't try it. Play the freemaster version and just that if you want a genuine improved experience, because this is not it.

(I'm playing the clean versión, BTW, just defeated Ifrit—which could use fire3 on himself to heal and could do the same on you, with deadly consequenses).

Romhacks vying for the title of 'definitive' shall henceforth be ranked higher if they have a customized title screen! Also wondering how this clean version stacks up against Pixel Freemaster. This 'clean' not forcing autodash and autolearning on me is pretty great.

But yeah, I like the more modular approach because you can make your own more-perfect version of a hack without any serious dealbreakers. Also, xJ4cks has done some fine work on this and FFIV Ultima/PLUS that I know of, so am fairly confident this was handled with care.

One funny thing, thought this might be a bad patching, but it isn't. Must be a stylized 'r' like in the hack name.

The write-up at the hack site doesn't say whether the doubled experience is combined with reduced encounter rate. Doesn't doubled experience mean you'll be overlevelled for everything? I've finished the game before and I don't remember much grinding except near the end or bonus dungeons/bosses.
It's up to the player to choose if they wanted the doubled Exp/Gil values; if reduced encounter rates were included, I'd mention them.

Many of the improvements sound good, but that one seems broken. You're not supposed to automatically gain the enemy spells/skills as soon as they are first used with zero conscious preparation or commitment.
If you don't like auto blue magic gaining, use one of the versions with less changes. Everyone has different tastes and priorities.

At this point, I know from reading that and similar phrases that it will not be explained or documented at the hack site. I would bet money that it won't be explained. Then I checked, and it wasn't explained.
I don't know what you're expecting an explanation for. The sum of the mechanical changes naturally leads to better game pacing; bugs were fixed, menus are more practical to navigate, and if the player so chooses, tasks with high time commitment, like Blue Magic learning can be somewhat streamlined.
