Can anyone give me a suggestion for Final Fantasy 1? Anything, it would be a great help.
I'm playing it on GBA but I would like some advice, anything.Hi @flower_sky67!
What kind of suggestion do you mean?
Are you looking for a romhack of FF1, or maybe its remakes?
Or maybe you have an in-game question?
It would be great if you could clarify a bit!![]()
This is GBA version , I would like some advice :DWhat version are you playing?
Don't pick the thief.
Hmmm I played the PS1 version which is slightly worse gameplay wise than GBA but better in music/visually , I think its also when intelligence stat got fixed making spells far more useful , the strategist answer is wonderful , but just don't choose thief like just don't...get healing aka white mage you will need him.I'm playing it on GBA but I would like some advice, anything.

Look, I followed your recommendation and it turned out well for me on the Android version. It's quite interesting to play with this build. I'm happy. :DThe redhead fighter is god tier. Red mage is good all around and black belt/monk is one of the strongest classes at the highest level. With those 3, you can choose anything as your 4th party member. I'd recommend the white mage, as healing is limited in the NES version. I believe it is less of an issue in the remakes, IIRC.
I finish it once so let me tell you. Pick black, red and white mage with a melee like monk warior and level up them in first area and learn all the magic you can in first city(best of them in fact).I'm playing it on GBA but I would like some advice, anything.

About thief they class is good in dragon quest but in final fantasy 1 gba:
1 White Mage
1 Black Mage
The other 2 is up to you just no Thief no tho.
I usually go warrior, thief, black mage, white mage. The GBA version's pretty easy because you have the mp pool system and autoretargetting. Honestly you can pretty much just spam hi-potions and ethers in that version and walk through the game. Pretty much every version after the ps1 version is brain dead easy. The Marsh Cave will surprise you though. It's a pretty tough early game dungeon.
I find the most underappreciated change from the nes version is the inclusion of auto retargeting. It completely changes the flow of combat. Combat in FF1 is pretty simple compared to the later games. Being forced to think about which monster you want to target is basically the entire strategy behind the combat in FF1. Taking that out removes pretty much any thinking you had to do.The NES version is actually challenging cause you get only 99 potions max. No hi potions, no nothing. And you have a certain amount of spell casts per spell level. so you can easily run out of healing half way through a dungeon. That's why I recommend red mage + white mage. No need to quit a dungeon early due to lacking healing.

Even in the nes version resource management tails off towards the end. It's really not much of a problem any more by the time you reach the class change and battles are still basically reduced to pressing the 'A' button. The only thing that really changes that is being forced to think about which targets you want to attack. The magic bugs in the nes version compound this because a bunch of utility spells are useless reducing strategic choices even more.I think the NES version is underappreciated, but I'm not sure the targeting thing is the reason why. I like the limited resources and the challenge of managing dungeon runs. The other versions pretty much remove the challenge out of the game and make it a bland simple easy mode game. But the targeting thing is mostly just annoying. It forces you to track enemies hit points in your head when that information isn't easily managed.
This bug is present in the PS1 version and its not funny at all , magic is so weak against monsters that has no weakness to it , and potions healing being random gotta be pure bullshit like im paying gold for each potion and the healing varies? Thats not funny especially since gold is tough to come by early on.The magic bugs in the nes version compound this because a bunch of utility spells are useless reducing strategic choices even more.
The early game is kind of tough in all the versions at least up until after the Marsh Cave. I haven't played the ps1 version for a long time. All I remembered about it was that it had the vancian magic system, the option to toggle the auto retargetting on and off. I couldn't remember which, if any, of the bugs were fixed. I do remember the GBA version being quite a bit easier though. This bug is present in the PS1 version and its not funny at all , magic is so weak against monsters that has no weakness to it , and potions healing being random gotta be pure bullshit like im paying gold for each potion and the healing varies? In my case the entire game was tough you can toggle lots of things on and off in PS1 version like dash and auto target or pheonix downs i dont remember getting or finding any of these...The early game is kind of tough in all the versions at least up until after the Marsh Cave. Bro what version you played? I would like to play it PS1 had you with only 2 itemsA lot of spell can cast by items and weapons, so don't bother yourself to learn all of them
INSANE no white mage?Fighter, Monk, Thief, Red Mage
Yes, I love to live dangerously.![]()
If you're struggling at all in ff1 all you have to do is grind a couple levels and you'll be good.In my case the entire game was tough you can toggle lots of things on and off in PS1 version like dash and auto target or pheonix downs i dont remember getting or finding any of these...
Your posts have made me actually go back and look stuff up about the ps1 version and you're full of shit about most of the things you've been saying. There are 12 items in the ps1 version that cast 10 different spells and the magic bugs were fixed for the ps1 version.Bro what version you played?
