Which book, film or TV series do you think have the worst luck with games based on them?
And which game from a particular series do you think is the best?

I will start.

Game of Thrones. Some pathetic mobile games, a browser game, a typical average game from Telltale, a wooden average action RPG and a heavily average strategy game.

The only title that somehow stands out because the world of the series fits the rules of the game is Regins: Game of Thrones. In my opinion, one of the best installments in the Regins series.

Superman has two games that are kinda-OK-if-you're-a-fan, a handful of mediocre to bad games and one of the worst games ever created.
Which were kinda Ok if you're a fan? I don't even remember a decent average Superman game. All of them were more or less craps.

they've been making lord of the rings games for longer than i've been alive and i've yet to see one that was more than average. the ps2 turn based rpg being the best one i've tried. the mmo looks promising but i don't have the time to dip my toes in there.

For worst I would say Thundercats: got two games, one based on the original and one based on the remake version, both games are just not good. I'd take the one on DS over the ZX/C64 one any day, because it's a bit more fair, just 1000% monotonous. It's a franchise that could've had some pretty cool adventure type games, as the world itself has a bunch of weird stuff that would work okay in a game.

I heard that Shadow of Mordor is a pretty good game. Also, I feel the same way towards mmos. I've heard lots of good things about Final Fantasy XIV, but since it's a mmo I'm aware of how much time can be spent on those types of games.

Death and return of superman is somewhat beloved for the hardcore fans of superman, mainly because how it closely follows and looks to the comics it's based on.
I also heard some superman fans saying moderately positive stuff about superman returns, for how it basically works as a "superman simulator", despite it not being really good at all.
I myself remember having some fun with the 80s arcade game when I was a kid, but yeah, it also wasn't very good.

There is more than one good LOTR game. In fact, this series has been quite lucky with good games: The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, The Lord of the Rings Online (MMO - lives from 18 years), The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth and Battle for Middle-earth II, Lego The Lord of the Rings (but not the handhelds versions), Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War.

Avatar TLA is easly the best "Faux Anime" cartoon i have seen, unfortunately when it comes to its games, the only one i remember being good is a GBA Zelda Clone and a RPG for DS

I would say The Walking Dead, aside from great telltale game's and the two good VR ones, the franchise only have a Daryl prequel, a dead online game made by Starbreeze, a lot of now unplayable Facebook games, some phones ones and most importantly this thing:

Thank you GameMill for giving me a lot of laughs in 2023.

Another one that comes to my mind is Shrek. Ofc..

but not in Video Games. Each move had a game, but as was usually the case with the games accompanying the movies - they were average at best.
The exceptions were: the console version of Shrek 2 (the PC version was made by a different developer and was a completely different game, the GBA version was also made by someone else), Nintendo DS version of Shrek Forever After (the same case as with Shrek 2 - DS version was made by different developer) and one of many spinoff games - Shrek SuperSlam (but only "big" consoles version)
