Fighting Game Thread

So how is Injustice 2 really? It’s on sale for peanuts and I’m a bit tempted because I’m in both superhero and fighting game mood.
I’ve never played it because I’m not really a MK fan so I kind of always dismissed it.
One of the things that’s currently holding me back is that it seems to have some tacked-on gear/equipment system. Does that come into play in regular matches at all?

Got a month of Gamepass earlier and just noticed it was on there so might as well just try it for myself right away.

As far as I know, the gear system doesn't affect regular matches at all (apart from maybe extra HP if you level up). You'll maybe gain a new ability if you level up your character a bunch, but even that won't interfere as long as you don't equip said ability. I see it more as an excuse to people keep playing the single player modes if nothing else. Plus this is all turned off in competitive matches anyway.

If you played the first game, you'll feel right at home, it's more of the same except it looks nicer.

Thanks for the clarification.
I never played the first one either which is why I’m kind of excited. Only sad part is that Martian Madhunter isn’t here, but other than that it looks neat.
Seeing Flash’s super move really got a laugh out of me
