Is that true that Capcom considered a DarkStalkers X Guilty Gear game at some point?

This is my first time hearing about this so I dunno.

I've seen it in a Guilty Gear Retrospective video but maybe it's either false or not exactly told like that.

I really like gunner type of fighting game characters too.

Speaking of DarkStalkers why is this complicated?

The best would be to see a Darkstalker game combining the full roster with all versions of the characters like the PSP release.

Tekken has always been "my jam". Tekken 3 and Tekken 5 are my favorites, and to lesser extent Tekken 4, TTT. I want to put more time into Tekken 6 as well, and crack open Tekken 7.
I enjoy the cast of characters, music, the "snappy" game feel, the button-limb control and the extremely clear way the character move list is presented.
I've dabbled in some other fighting games, but Tekken is home.

Akatsuki Blitzkampf has a nice aesthetic but is also hard.

I also liked trying Dong Dong Never Die Judgement day but fixing the balance kinda killed the fun of it imo.

I need to try the Asuka 120% series.

Kizuna Encounter came out on Steam today and hoo boy, King Leo is as difficult as ever. ::lol

It's a bit expensive but I like the look of the game.

On the other hand, do people care about the LoL fighting game?

2XKO has taken over a huge chunk of space at my local, forcibly rearranging things. It kicked the Guilty Gear players out of their spot and into the spot that used to be for City of the Wolves, which itself used to be the odd ball whatever spot. Has also gotten on the rotation of streamed brackets with SF6 and T8. Attendee count has been good enough to secure it as a weekly bracket after its trial period.

So I'd say there are people who care. Not for me personally since it's just a grind matches online game and I can only get so into those.

Also hoping that we get Savage Reign on Steam with SNK suddenly porting all their old games. I love me some stage hazards.

Tekken 7 is in a pretty good sweet spot of being a really balanced game but without the clunkyness of the old and without the hyper aggressiveness of tekken 8 so you may feel it’d be a big comfort, especially given it’s easily available on modern platforms and doesn’t have an inactive player base.

Tekken 7 is indeed a million years better than the 8 but the 7 is nearly completely dead because everyone moved on to 8 (and left tekken altogether after finding out how mediocre it is).
The few players that still play on Tekken 7 have 10k hours and WILL demolish you especially if you are a beginner (after queuing for +15 minutes minimum, taking into account smurfing just requires you to delete a save file, which many of them do to wreck beginners). Would not recommend playing Tekken 7 unless you have friends to do it with.

I was never into the competitive side of fighting games, but I gotta say I did witnessed many toxic moments irl, especially for Smash Bros. Ultimate and Guilty Gear Strive. And also a little bit Tekken but not as bad.
I definitely overplayed online stuff like the JoJo fighting games (the arcade and ASB) and found affascinating the DB FighterZ one. But that's about it.

I need to play obscure and semi-obscure fighting games

On a side note I've downloaded Power Stone on the DC and the PSP compilation. Why the hell Capcom forgot about this franchise?

As for Tekken I'm sorry but I've never been fan of the character design (I prefer the Soul Blade/Edge/Calibur ones). The series kinda feels like "Virtua Figthers but edgier" to me.

I've always been in the "Super Smash Bros is a party game" team myself (although Melee and Project M/+ are good for serious gameplay). GG Strive is watered down Guilty sadly.

Toxic moments happen in any competition/human vs human environments sadly, even in sport.

ASB? I need to replay Venture and Heritage to the Future.

I'm not a massive fan of DB enough to be interested in the fighting games sadly.

Oh yeah, haven't mentioned: I think I took Budokai 3 and Supersonic Warriors 2 for DS (OF ALL DBZ GAMES) way too seriously. But I had so much fun with both. Budokai 3 mostly as a spectator but that gameplay is so fun to watch (and play if I had more skills on me).

Fully aware of that, I spoke about my personal experiences. This doesn't meant I would boicot those games/series, not at all. I'm very close to 1000 hours on Ultimate and pretty sure at this point I will go after them, even if I play that game once in a while lol.
I can't say much on Guilty Gear Strive, I'm mostly on casual sides and thought it was a funny great fighting game, haven't perceived this "watered down" side and I did tried other games of the series. I know they're a lot on technical level.

That DS game looks neat. The UI is like CvS 2.

I would play Smash with friends with items (even if that would make some folks foam from their mouth).

Competitive Smash is mostly a collateral thing rather than the initial intent. I'm fine with Melee since the engine allows it but when I see Smash 4 and Ultimate competitive it feels a bit less entertaining.

I knew about Guilty and BlazBlue before I really got into fighting games and when I saw how metal the series was I always felt like Strive could've been a different series because they dropped a bit of that "hardcore" feeling in the OST and art style.

Just look at these:

Strive also have a de-saturated look while Xrd and before felt very colourful.

Oh yeah, good analogy, it does remind of CvS2!

Idk, I can see why Ultimate became competitive. Sm4sh not so much, and Brawl was definitely NOT meant as that considering the tripping gimmick (and yeah, I know that's where Project M comes out).

Very cool facts about Guilty and BlazBlue, I can only say to believe you since I'm no purist of either of those series.

This has been somewhat viral in FGC circles lately.

I'm more of a Burger King kind of guy just because it's walking distance from our house. I do feel strangely weirded out hearing Akuma sing.

I love Marvel vs Capcom and Soulcalibur the most. I hope the next MvC goes back to a 2D fighter.
I need to get into the Marvel games.

Starting with Children of the Atom then Marvel SH then X-Men vs SF then the two MvC.

I don't vibe with 3 nor Infinite sadly.

2D is too expensive and too niche sadly. KoF 12/13 almost killed SNK a second time.
