FF7 Remake, is it what you wanted ?

It did give us Tifa and Aerith in swimwear and of course the modding community took it a step further ::winkfelix

Lightning returns is as good as majoras mask for anyone that actually gave the game a decent chance, maybe not as groundbreaking as MM, but thats a given though.

I always wanted to try to play the game, I abandoned it when I learned of the time limit, tunrs out it's not bad at all and quite generous.

All in all lightning returns is a majoras mask/valkyrie profile game where lightning is the Valkyrie, it's pretty great so long as you aren't expecting a final fantasy game and I think the clue is in the name being ligtning returns and not final fantasy 13-3, the dev really just wanted to make a valyrie profile game starring lightning, shameless
Cracking Up Lol GIF
I played the trilogy and yeah thats what i thought with the game. Majora Mask esque. Its not a bad game, just isnt a real Final Fantasy game and a weird battle system compared to the first 2.

It this becomes inspiration for new art I’m all 👀 and 👂
lmao, maybe

I think this question could trigger a war. I think we shouldn't ask such questions anymore. Ok to your question I played both remake parts, I was not disappointed but not completely satisfied either. What I liked most was this open world, I kind of like that and I also liked that you could build relationships with the individual player characters those were my highlights. I pray that Square somehow manages to complete the third part satisfactorily but I don't expect anything.
Eh, I wouldn't worry about upsetting anyone. You are entitled to your opinion, and if someone cries about it then it speaks levels about their intelligence imo. Like I said, I liked the games.

I don't really have a crazy amount of affection towards original FF7; I like it, but it's not my favorite game of all time or anything like that.

I think the biggest problem I have with FF7R is the name. It's not an actual remake of the original, which disappointed many who bought the game on release, expecting it to be a 1:1 retelling with updated graphics.

Personally, I would've preferred that the marketing and name of the game was more upfront about what the game is, and I think that this would've solved a few of the issues that people had with the game.
I think you confuse "remaster" with "remake".

"Remake" is literally remake. Assets are re-developed and along the way game itself can change a lot and become something else yet has the same "story" and "theme" but how story progress changes. For example Resident Evil 3 Remake is a remake alright but cuts tons of content and actually RE3 fun out of the game but still a remake. IMO remake doesn't have to change anything but remake is a good way to improve the game with added content.

However, FF7 remake is a "fan service" game by cutting content, change it a lot and add trivial stuff to befit it more younger players. I dislike the original game but I dislike the remake more so I cannot imagine how a fan of the game hates it but may appreciate all the fan service aspect the game offers I guess.

On the other hand what you mean is "remaster". Remaster may only change assets to swap it with higher quality stuff and may tweak visuals, even how the camera system and gameplay is. Then technically they are "remake" but more in the category of "remaster". But then actual remakes has lazy "reheating the same pizza but this time making the game has less content" thingy and "let's use fan service" and "just releasing it as a simple game new gamers would like" thing because "I'm out of ideas so let's release same game again and again" BS. Remakes was always a thing but since past 5 years they really going low with what remake supposed to be. On the other hand perhaps a "remaster" type you mean is Crisis Core RE7 Remake. It's a remake because it changes the gameplay but in the end it's a 1:1 faintful game and it remasters the game with new assets and textures too and it had more goal of a remaster and quality of life improvement therefore I call this a remake done properly lol. And then the most lazy remaster type is no change in game at all but somehow it requires powerful system to run, it may have higher resolution texture and display options and that's it.

I've had a hard time swallowing whatever Square enix threw our way since FF15, Yeah the company ran into pumps in the past but it wasn't as bad as this (well if you count the ff movie then that might be a lil different) I just can't understand how this company work anymore, I'm not gonna rant about their business plan so I'll stay on point, i didn't enjoy ff7r and I can't even go past the first 10 hrs of rebirth, I hate the multiverse I'm not a big fan of how the game carry itself and I hate the "revision" who asked for this ? And who likes it? I'm asking genuinely what is so great about ff7r ? Because either I'm stupid or I'm crazy, I'm all for new ideas but not the way they are doing it, I even kinda liked FF12 even tho the hell that game went thru but you can at least see the vision, but with 7R ? It's just a waste of time, i really wanna know what people think of the game if you played it did you like it ? Yes or no please explain with your reason and thoughts on the remake I'm ltrly beefing with a friend over it rn
The inappropriate padding is what ruins both games, they stretched certain sections by like the Train Graveyard in Remake and added too many minigames in Rebirth. I disagree with everyone who saids it was wrong for Final Fantasy VII to go action rpg (even tho Crisis Core was an action rpg so explain to me why it would be a good idea if the follow Final Fantasy VII game went back to turn based) , I can't be the only one that played Kingdom Hearts & Dissidia (both with Cloud in them) and was like "A Final Fantasy VII Remake that plays like Kingdom Hearts would be amazing!".

Kingdom Hearts 3 is great storywise. It wraps everything up perfectly.
Sureeeeeeeeee it does. "Looks at ReMind".

Honestly the time limit is more like it exists there and really doesn't hinder you at all. TBH it's kinda like how time limits in old games are like Streets of Rage, Super Mario and Sonic games. Either way you always have plenty of time and if you dilly-dally that much then it's more like you especially wait a lot for it when who would wait anyway?

So no need to speed run, no need to sacrifice side content or even have fun exploring places and talking with people. Just don't forget the game while it runs in the background lol.

No, and neither was Ever Crisis. I dont care anymore. I have FFVII International

Cant top peak from a bunch of young Japanese men from round the turn of the Millennium. Not even those same young men now old.

Its not to say its not good, its just not what I wanted, and thats okay too, well.....just know Im using my Alex Jones voice, Im kinda [REDACTED]. So I know what I personally want, doesnt quite make the money they want, NOR is it fun for the devs. And I can respect that.

I never wanted them to remake FF7.
I knew that if they did, they would take out "this guy are sick." and many other such instances that gave the game a certain charm, and otherwise change too much. If it had been a 1 to 1 remake, with not even the graphics being much different, then I would have liked it.

But what they have done is bastardized a perfect entry in the franchise, one of history's most beloved video game stories, and turned it into kitchy, pop culture garbage like everyone else consumed already, and made it more like that sort of material so as to be more appealing to that sort of crowd.

I've said already in another thread that this isn't a remake: it's a completely alternate version of a game we all knew and loved, and fans be damned for having feelings for the original content.

I'm aware of the difference between a remake and a remaster - I have greater issue with the marketing.

The front of the box art appears to show that the game is a new version of FF7, but you need to read the back of the box to know that it only goes up to escaping Midgar. My comment was moreso to say that a big old "Part 1" would have cleared up some of the confusion for those not in the loop about FF7R's development as a trilogy of games.

When they release a remake we dislike lol:

I especially feel so about the BS Silent Hill 2 Remake and Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake. They are even way worse than Resident Evil 3 Remake.

I see. Yes, they pulled off Life is Strange BS there but those who know about Square Enix would expect this especially because the original game is a 3-disc game. I would expect the remake to have 100 parts though lol. Who doesn't search if new games are actually released as part anymore? They even made Hitman that BS lol.

On the other hand new generation gamers think this is usual because they got used to being brainwashed and scammed so much it's what normal is for them so they wanna be scammed and brainwashed and make this simple world way more complex than it should be. Square Enix knows the art of scamming and they use it. Company moment lol.

No, It's not Final Fantasy...the core of the game is a turn based battle system, and this has been thrown out entirely while they gaslight you that it hasn't been, there have been no FF games since XIII, it's been cuckoo'd by a completely different series.

I've tried to like XV and XVI to no avail, well made games but without the battle system and the music they come off as souless and hopefully with the success of Expedition 33 they might see the light and give the fans what they want with XVII, the chance for a faithful remake of VII is lost however.

A question for those who have played Rebirth. What did you think of the boss fight against Vincent? I was surprised that you have to fight him which actually made no sense at all.

Blah Blah Blah, Final Fantasy VII R wasn't the first Final Fantasy to be an action rpg.

Well what Final Fantasy series is about is the fantasy that's never final. Who cares how the fantasy is, innit? lol

When did I say it was?

There's no need to be rude.
You were talking about how Final Fantasy was turn based and tbh Im getting annoyed by it. Why can't a mainline Final Fantasy be an action rpg? Sometimes a franchise needs to grow.

As soon as I saw Nomura directing even as early as that first trailer, my expectations took a dive.

I'd say it would have probably been more impactful if the first game was based around disc 1. By the end of disc 1 you know your goal, all your party members, and that thing with the flower girl happens.
