I mean it's really animated. It's a whole story in itself, a cinematic short and satisfying even if you don't have City of the Wolves. (Latest SNK game I have is KOF 14...sigh)

I wish the Kyokugenryu bear student was a playable character...

whats up with the blurry shakey movement at the start, that looked awfull? those eyebrow movements are unreal.

Kinda weird they went to effort of reviving the Fatal Fury brand if they're just going to include the Art of Fighting characters anyway. I know KOF starts with the Ryo guest battle, but still...

Hmm, it's interesting, but somehow it's missing that certain something. ::thinking

Both AoF and FF have their own established continuity before King of Fighters was a thing. A younger Geese Howard was the secret final boss of AoF2 and had. Mr. Big as his underling. There's a older Ryo (called Mr. Karate) as the secret character of Fatal Fury: Wild Ambition (which is a retelling of the first FF from 1991).

Take note that Yuri is now with Robert just like his ending from AoF3, after returning back to to Europe and Ryo gave her sister his blessing to go with him.

There are motions of the original continuity in other SNK games. Like Mr. Karate II as a playable character in both Buriki One and Neo Geo Battle Coliseum (the later he comes alongside an older playable Robert).

King of Fighters is a crossover universe which has it's own continuity where Geese is alive and AoF cast is on the same age as the games they first came form to blend with the rest of the cast.
