A recent discussion about controllers had me thinking about the various different ones I've had over the years. From 1st-party to 3rd-party, from basic/default designs to the limited edition ones.

So I thought I'd ask: What were/are y'alls favourite limited edition controllers? Can be ones you personally had, or ones you wanted but never bought or maybe couldn't afford.

The ones that I personally had are:

The Arkham City Batarang controller for the PS3

I was heartbroken when this controller died on me back in the day. I was at the peak of my Batman fandom, and it lit up and you could change the colour of the lighting. It was so cool! Now they apparently go for like $200 USD...::huhsonic

And the main PS5 controller I use currently is the first Astro Bot one

I love Astro Bot, and that deep blue + white colour scheme is so pretty::heart They have or are releasing another Astro Bot one, but I think the only difference is a slightly different expression on the touch pad?

Honourable mention for one I don't have:

The Starfield Xbox controller

Starfield as a game was... Well, it was very cheap when I bought it and I at least had fun pretending I was in Guardians of the Galaxy for like 30-40 hours anyway. Never finished the story. But I do love the aesthetic design of that controller though. If I had my Xbox when that controller came out, I probably would've bought it!

I used to have one before it got stolen. Haven't gotten another GBA since.
I guess a GameBoy is a hybrid of console and controller, so I'll count it!

I'm sorry for the loss! It looks like a cool GBA

Easy come, easy go..
Someone left it in their desk, I could have brought it to lost and found or left it for some rando to take, but I didn't.

I guess that's what I get for being dishonest. 😅

For me it's the Darkstalkers PS2 controller that looks like a Saturn pad. One of the very few gaming things I held onto, they can be pricey nowadays. I've been going through the rooms in this house and came across it the other day, and had to just admire its majesty for a few moments.

i dont think anything can beat the DQ Slime controllerView attachment 122100
^ I also found one of these that I got some years ago, and I don't remember it being sticky, just gummy? Well now it's sticky and it's kinda gross so unless I can figure out how to clean it, it's going in the trash. A shame because it is cute.

I just wanted this controller so I could play my games that I've loved so much about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles since I was a kid and watch the Nickelodeon 3D cartoon.

Not as cool as the others, but I'd say my Smash Bros. GameCube controller. There's nothing like a company producing a new controller from a previous generation, and it 100% works on a Wii! Best of all, it was a bargain at $40 CAD.
