Weird question I know. (Didnt even bother to search if this thread already exists :P).
Does anyone here have a favorite gaming smell? We can debate over best graphics and best OSTs all day, but what about gaming from the olfactory angle?

Me personally, when I got my Dreamcast it had a very particular plasticy but also perfumey smell. I wish it still smelled like that and any time i catch a whiff of something similar it always catches me off guard. Its probably my favorite smell next to fried rice and isopropyl alcohol.

The smell of video game manuals
One of the many reasons I soured on modern games was how scanty they got with the manuals. Typically one little advertisement card for DLC or something, gone were the ten page manuals, the maps and registration cards.
And yes, the smell was glorious.

Every time I got a new sealed PS2 game I would crack it open and take a good whiff...then promptly read the entire manual...and probably smell that too. Nothing hits quite the same as that anymore.
I do still have a sealed copy of Mad Maestro...but that is going to stay sealed as the seal itself is special.

Nintendo Entertainment System cartridges had a scent like no other.

I suggest to everyone who likes these chemical smells, track down a pack of 1991 Topps Stadium Club baseball cards. You'll probably be in heaven, they had a smell that could probably get you a little high, even.

My favorite video game smell was: Gasoline, smoke and the burning plastic as
I incinerated my 7TH red ring of death X360.

Someone mentioned it already but definitely removing the cellophane wrapper, cracking that box open and getting a good whiff of the inside, mostly the manual. so nice though.
