Favorite Video Game Locations To Chill At

The top of the Empire State Building in Marvel's Spider-Man.

I used to like to break into peoples houses in Oblivion and just sit around reading all their books.

One time my friend called me while i was doing this. Asks, "what're you up to?"

"Breaking into peoples houses and reading their books."

He actually believed I was doing it irl, until i told him it was just in a video game. Haha

FF11 was chill zones: the game.
I'm not a fan of the current state of the game, but I still get nostalgic for the atmosphere every now and then.

Also, the coziest theme of all time:
If you know, you know.

As a child, the chao gardens in Sonic Adventure 2. Also the towns in Dark Cloud 1 and 2, building or most commonly fishing.

Basically the whole town in Deadly Premonition is great for just driving around.

I spent a long time running around the beach at the beginning of 13-2... trying to ignore the inane dialogue and pretend that the main character was Vanille instead sara... ugh...

When you beat the game, you can unlock extra bits, and you can ask them at first meeting some questions that just make the other members go 'wtf??' Kinda funny getting those extra dialogs.

Yeah i'd have liked Vanille too... favorite character in FF13. Kinda cute how Tracer sounds like the same voice actor.

Just Midgar in general in FFVII lol. I love running around those dank, cluttered locales with all the weird NPCs saying off-color stuff. The whole game could have taken place there and I would have been content.

yeah, it was pretty cool, but it was such a contrast to the rest of the game, and i think that made a nice frame for it...

i really liked the entire experience of playing the OG ff7 over 3 discs. I think it was a bold design choice to have the entire first disc take place in midgar. (also in contrast with the pacing of the first six games)

The entire first disc doesn't take place in Midgar, it goes on for quite awhile until right after the death of a major character.

I wish it did though! Haha. Joking aside, I do like everything outside of Midgar a ton. Like the ruins of the City of the Ancients you're referring to, for example. I love the town of Kalm, Costa Del Sol is great... really I could just chill all over that freaking map.

oh really? I guess its been 28 years since i played it.. its gotta be most of the first disc tho right? like 7 or 8 hours?
That seems right for the hour count in Midgar - maybe a bit less if you know where everything is already. Believe it or not - the majority of the first is outside of that. God, it's hard to say how it would be to somebody going in fresh, but I would say it might not even be half the first disc. Really, the first disc is half the game, second disc is the second half, and the last disc is basically the final dungeon and some optional junk lol

You might think that, but no. It's actually a bit less than half, let's say 30%. And that's being generous.

Play FF7 Survivor. Refresh your memory. Save Aeris.

Vice City, man.

Particularly that first area near the beach... I still fire up the game just to drive around it, because it's THAT familiar to me.
I tried to chill on the beach front near the neon-signed shops, but this dude with a Hawaiian T-Shirt keep jumping on top of cars and plunging a chainsaw unto them.

For me, recently, the world in Kirby and the Forgotten Realm. It looks very cozy.

In my case Journey, Flower and Hotel Dusk are my special places.
