Favorite version of Berserk?

What do folks here feel about Berserk? And if your a fan, whats your favorite version of Berserk?

For me, it is the Manga and the late 90s anime.

I also enjoy the Dreamcast game.

Beyond that, i collect everything simply to have the collection. but i am sad each time i watch Berserk 2016...

I also liked the ps2 game, but it never got a release in the west, so thank god for translators! Underrated for sure, but the reason it is not higher for me.

Agreed regarding Manga, that will always be my number 1 source. Love it and sad Mura is not around to finish it!

Reegaridng the PS2 game, but for me it would have higher on my list if it had to been released officially in the west. Thank god for modders!

Also, was Kentaro Miura involved int he ps2 one? As i know he was with the DC game.

Manga will always be the best. Sadly with the way it is, Berserk just can't ever get a proper adaptation.

I am not sure what to think about this collaboration with Blizzard (or what is left from Blizzard). I have double feelings. I love diablo, and I love berserk, but it's some sort of an uncanny merge.

I feel your pain! Blizzard Money grab for sure. But in some ways, i cannot blame them, but on the other side i will not play it, as for me Diablo has not been good since 2 imho.

I may watch and play though, but if there is no logic behind Guts being there, then is a skin at best.

I hope at least Studio Gaga gets a nice deal and use it to finance itself and finish the manga.

Diablo 3 has that stupid cd-key system, but it is not too bad. Though, I also think 2 is better.
I haven't played the remaster (Resurrected) neither 4 because now it belongs to a corporate matryoshka. Blizzard is now Activision that is now Microsoft and they don't like computers running on MacOS anymore.

i'm strictly an anime guy, although i have tried reading berserk but didn't continue (literally near the starting chapters) cos i told myself i'd rather read it in japanese (but never got to it cos my japanese level back then was still pretty ass, unlike now where i play all jrpgs in jap)

berserk 1997 is still the pinnacle of dark fantasy/fantasy anime in history, and will always be
no new anime can ever top the magic that the 90s brought
it may have altered some things from the manga, or even omitted altogether, but i feel like the payoff in the end was way too fucking good, cos it literally twisted our worlds, although theirs is on the literal sense

i am very sure manga is still the best way, but being an anime guy, i like seeing the characters move, hearing the characters talk, hearing music (bro cmon, Guts theme playing while Griffith speaks about what a true friend is and should be, that scene is literally top 10 in anime history forever)

I like the 1997 one because of the 90's style but I think that ultimately I'd stick with the OVA trilogy for the Golden Age arc.

A real shame the same team hasn't made the rest of the series in that style...

Thinking about it, they have had less successes and more poops, i am hoping they use the folks that made the successes. I can only hope..

the manga is really a work of art and the storie is a masterpice
90s berserk anime is the best anime

i hope the berserk manga gets a ending
since the orignal author is dead and as i understand it the one that is going to finnish berserk is a old friend to the author

the author of berserk did say 1 time that he did want a happy ending in berserk
i can just not see a real good happy ending to berserk

The manga, tho I stopped reading it since the unfortunately passing of the author, that's the end of berserk for me. I like the old anime and the movies and I have yet to play the games.
I also like this little fan animation.

The PS2 game can be fun, and the Musou one can too, thanks to the powerful presence of the IP.
