This thread is for posting those fun things you've found that developers obviously put some effort into even though few people would ever actually see it (or care about it). The most recent one I've stumbled on is in the Options menu for Battle Mania: Daiginjou. There's a tiny band in the corner. Each member of the band represents a channel on the sound chip. When you play a song, they move when their channel is playing.

You can blow up the microwave dish on Half-Life.

It accomplishes nothing, but it goes a long way towards immersing me.
Also, the guard you see banging on the door when you start a new game is the guard you play as in Blue Shift. In Blue Shift you can see Freeman pass on the next train.

Metal Gear Solid is full of them. MGS2 made the ice melting slowly if you broke the shaker in the tanker a marketing feature.

The combat menu for each and every world in kingdom hearts ii + the one resembling the first game for non-world specific sections

Horizon Zero Dawn, ants collecting food. I first discovered them by night which looked beyond awesome against a full moon.

Scarecrow from Ocarina of Time. Completely skippable, but he remembers your custom ocarina song, it blew my mind as a kid and made the game so memorable and heartfelt immersive.

Saints Row 2 having Music stores in the city where you can buy CDs with music for your custom car playlist, just starting a new game i always go buy the avenged sevenfold bat country & wolfmother woman CDs.

In San Andreas, you can actually find the dead bodies of the husbands of the K-rose radio host show.

Resident Evil 2, there's a giant moth enemy only found in one room near the end of the game.
I just found it cute that the devs felt like leaving the thing in there with no rhyme or purpose. ::cirnoshrug

I love this game dearly. That detail there is by far, one of my top favorites and I've never see this in any other game before.
