You know how sometimes games would hint at something bigger, then stop short of providing an answer just to tease the player? What are your favorite examples of this sort of thing?

Mine are the "Christmas party" in Grim Fandango (which apparently embarrasses Manny to no end) and whatever the "incident" was on Sam & Max that resulted on them being banned from the upper floors of their own building.

What about you?

After returning to Donkey Kong country returns (no pun intended) I always loved the the different stuff and overall design of the backgrounds. one thing that just struck me is in the ruins level why is there a literal giant monument of the og DK holding a giant Wii remote, but if you look closer it has a tie like modern donkey Kong.

How the fuck the damn time loop started in Final Fantasy I, i mean i get that Garland gets defeated in the present literally in to the past, he becomes Chaos and sends into the present the Four Fiends, but they never explain how the damn thing even started, talk about Egg and Chicken

Yeah in Full Throttle, there's a song called "Increased Chances" where some guy sings about the apocalypse. Full Throttle takes place out in the desert and everyone is either part of a bike gang or driving a hover car. The bike gangs all fight each other with crazy weapons like Mad Max and even have advanced tech like boosters or special Cavefish goggles that can pick up dots in the road or find secret caves on the old mine road. What are the Cavefish, anyway? Were they survivors who lived in caves their whole lives and became sensitive to the sun? They also have some bizarre looking bikes where they have to lay on their stomachs with their faces being just inches above the pavement. But the whole game just screams post apocalyptic wasteland where biker gangs rule the road. Of course there's still the rich elites, Ripburger being one of them. But those guys would always find some way to survive a nuclear fallout. The song "Increased Chances" plus the setting and the characters tells me something more happened before the game. Tim Schafer denies this. He said so himself that it wasn't apocalyptic, but the fan theory has existed since the 90s. I'm sticking with it too.
