on the net!
since the steel ball run anime adaptation is coming out soon, i was just curious :)
my personal favorite is part 8, jojolion, but i think the jojolands might end up being my favorite by the end because i just adore an ensemble cast and this one is so good. i very much believe that the series only gets better as it goes along!!

I've only read from the beginning through about half of steel ball run, but based on that I'd go part 4 and the part 6. I like Jolyne the best, but the setting of part 4 is just too good.

Jojolion, its just great

I love Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency for the elegant simplicity. There are unambiguously evil vampires that need killin'. There's super special sunlight tai-chi that melts vampires like an ice cream cone in a hot car. Go forth and have fun in 20th century Europe.

Phantom Blood established the rules and lore. The way vampirism looks and feels, the rules and tactics of Hamon, and the lore of the world. Battle Tendency went in and twisted things around. It added new enemies, new factions, and new powers. Then that was it! No more vampires (other than DIO and Vanilla Ice), no more Hamon, And no more historical Europe. And that was just fine. Hamon and vampires had their time and it was well spent. There was no decline in quality or jumping the shark for hamon, because Araki knew when to bow out, and that's admirable.

part 3 > part 2 > part 4 > part 7 > part 6 > the rest

but each part is at least unique, jotaro's bizarre adventure is iconic levels, after all

💪

Vento Aureo and Steel Ball Run are my favorites. I think thematically they're the strongest parts and the ones I've connected to the most.

I can understand people finding PB "boring" because it has a really long startup (things get interesting only when he ventures into Ogre Street to find the guy who sold Dio the poison that slowly killed his father so he could meet Speedwagon, a very important side character then went to fight him in the burning house as he turned into a vampire which was a very important scene for the entire series).

I think Battle Tendency has a quicker startup and you get to see more parts of the world, like an Indiana Jones movie in a way, so it's easier to get into. Also Joseph is very funny whereas Jonathan could feel like your typical plain hero who wishes for justice.

I liked Stardust Crusaders for the almost JRPG feeling journey where they get newer members in the way but I think that it could've concluded the manga. Part 4 and 5 are almost feeling like spin-offs that aren't that related to the Joestar Family (since both Jojos in them are illegitimate in a way).

Oh and stands are getting overly complicated whereas Hamon was straightforward.

this is such a good opinion, i love the aesthetic of the first parts so much as well!!!

Now that is a question I cannot answer that easily

I think Part 4 has my favorite plot and favorite villain, the whole Kira part is soo good, he is kinda like Hans Landa from Inglorious Bastards, I know I hate him for the things he does, bit he is one sly son of a bitch.

My favorite Gang is Parte 5s, you got the son of evil himself on a quest to vanquish evil, mommy Buchiaratti keeping the kids in place, Narancia is a silly little guy. I love em. But it is close with Part 4s Gang.

Part 3 got Polnareff. Part 3 got that manliness. Part 3 has Jotaro vs Dio. Part 3 has a penultimate final boss called Vanilla Ice. Part 3 is the masculine urge to travel around the world with some pals and crush your enemies on the way. I love it.
(Minus the Orang Utan on the ship, that one is cursed even for JoJo imo)

And finally, Part 1 got the ABSOLUTE TEAM OF GOATS that is Jonathan Joestar and Speedwagon.
I can see why people think Jonathan is boring and Part 1 in general, but I love it for it´s simplicity and for the Chadness of Jonathan. Mans only wanted to save his father and stop Dio himself. Mans only wanted a happy life for his wife. Mans got robbed of it and even in his final moments he simply held Dio in his arms like a poor lost child.
And goddamn I respect that dude.
We don´t need to talk about Speedwagon, he has had his praise already and rightfully so.

I leave galantly.

Definitely Steel Ball Run. That was the part where Araki's character writing peaked. I also really like Diamond is Unbreakable and Stone Ocean.

100% easily this.
Full hype that started with the Capcom fighting arcade game, the OVAs scenes with Jotaro vs Dio. I was annoyed that, at the times, people kept yelling the same exact meme (Za Warudo roado roda da wry. Yay) without ever adknowledging a top tier Shounen Jump manga.

My hype definitely skyrocketed from Part 2 to Part 5, had some issues while reading Part 1 and Part 6-7 because I felt they were absurdly chaotic. But still liked them!
