I'm not that familiarized with metal but i have some that i love

I started listening to Scythelord for being the band of my favorite streamer/youtuber, but stayed because it became one of my favorite metal bands ever

Drumcorps is fucking awesome because of their excellent mix of metal and breakcore, i love everything this dude does

Ratos de porão is a brazilian band that is an absolute classic and one of the first hardcore/metal acts i ever heard in my life. They aren't exclusively Metal tho.

Based on your profile sounds like you need to get into "anime" slam. A sub genre of slam (slam being a subgenre of death metal) with imagery of gore and anime girls at the forefront.

With death metal I'm pretty basic. Just cannibal corpse for the most part. Maybe bolt thrower now and then.
Heavy metal, I like Gojira. Especially their album "the way of all flesh"
Other heavier music:
I love a lot of 90's hard rock bands like Korn, Rob zombie and stuff like that.

Damn, thanks a lot for the info. I love all the covers of these bands. Didn't even know something like that existed in metal scene, damn.

This is kind of doomy, but still death.
Kind of thrash-y but still heavy. Don't click if you don't like cheese!
The greatest death album of all time, inching towards black.
This is a breakcore album, but there is death fusion and it's the pinnacle of its project.

and obviously the albums Symbolic and The Sound of Perseverance by the band Death are required listening for the genre, and essentially some of the best that death metal as a genre could even produce. but everyone already knows that.

I used to love igorrr but his recent stuff is getting more and more samey and losing their focus. I just can't care for that project as much as i cared in the past. Also i saw too many dramas involving it.
never heard of anything like that. i don't really pay attention to musicians or music groups as people, as a general rule. i've heard three albums from igorrr and i believe this, taken as a whole, is the best of them. Nostril being a close second. generally i'm not a break person, but i found it suitably bizarre. i may check out their recent contributions to gauge my own opinion, though.

Can't really comment on death metal, not really a fan. Kind of weird to combine the two...

As far as heavy metal, Ozzy best hands down, powered by the incredible fingers of Randy Rhoads.
The two solos on mr crowley are incredible. LOL, you can see on youtube the most seeked parts of this song ;_;

Holy shit. Finally, the best thread on the forum is finally upon us. ;)

Jokes aside though, I'd like to present a band included in the thread title's theme, which I recommend:

I'll also go ahead and include some heavy metal, as well:

And finally, my favorite band, hands down:

is black metal out cos it isn't either heavy metal nor death metal? ?

Heavy Metal

Ghost came out with a new single literally within 24 hours (the acting here is so good)

although here's one of my top Ghost songs

my favourite NSBM band (fucking hell this sound is just the perfect Black Metal sound for me)

but my favourite Black Metal band is a Black/Folk Metal band from Finland (Moonsorrow are just perfection with every release)

but lately i've opened the doors to Death Metal (honestly was not much a fan of death metal unless it was melodeath like Scar Symmetry) and i'll admit, i never cared about US metal at all ? Cannibal Corpse changed my ~20 years perception of US metal forever (although mainly death metal, i ain't gonna listen to nu metal and Metallica for shit?)

these are just some of the Death Metal bands i've discovered recently and reaaaaally dig

Death Metal

Brutal Death

Slamming Brutal Death (this is so fucking good check them out)

and well, along with opening the doorway to actual good Death Metal, i gave Deathcore another chance (cos honestly fuck the deathcore scene and all the deathcore vocalists who 90% of the time have some kind of sexual offence?)

i don't listen to flat out Deathcore itself, but holy fuck Symphonic Blackened Deathcore is a different beast (just comes to show that Black Metal is the best; it's so versatile)

Infant Annihilator is fucking nuts, Technical Deathcore

The only metal I'm not really into is black metal, just never really been a fan of the stuff I've heard. Everything else is fair game though, hell yeah. I'm a big thrash guy, death metal, NWOBHM, sludge stuff like Crowbar and Acid Bath, anything with a nice guitar riff focus.

My personal favourite band of all time is Black Sabbath, so enjoy some Sabbath.

Favourite death metal band is probably Death which I'm honestly surprised hasn't been mentioned yet. Leprosy and The Sound of Perseverance were hugely influential albums for a young Octopus.

I was going to drop some Priest, but @Omegapunch beat me and a bunch of other people. I'll drop some from my favourite Priest album that wasn't mentioned at least being Angel of Retribution.

Fuck yeah, Acid Bath. I started listening to their stuff after i met a guy on a Quake server that played with them years ago. Very hard stuff, i love Cheap Vodka

They're great, it's a shame they only had the two albums. Venus Blue is probably my favourite song of theirs, it's so insanely catchy while still being hard as hell and the lyrics are just so fucked up, an absolute classic.
