FAVORITE FIGHTING GAME

What is your favorite fighting game of all-time?

Guilty Gear XXAC+R and BlazBlue Central Fiction; I main Johnny in +R and Platinum in Central Fiction, but you may have already guessed that by now

I would say the DOA franchise, they are really fun games and is a shame that the old games are trapped on Xbox.

Others fighting fighting games I play a lot are: Bloody Roar 2, Under Night, Blazblue, Guilty Gear, Soul Calibur, Melty Blood, Tekken, Killer Instinct, Arcana Hearts, Virtua fighter, Skullgirls, Street fighter and MK (specially the PS2 ones)
DOA 1 is on PS1 and a few other ports iirc? Also DOA always reminded me of Dreamcast and PS2 for some reason. I am most likely just out of the loop on these games, apologies if I am.

Basically the director/producer of the series Tomonobu Itagaki is a perfectionist, so because of that those games have a lot of versions DOA 1 is on PSX and Saturn and later in OG Xbox, then he did the same with 2 and that got released until he was satisfied with the xbox version and the same happened with the two ninja Gaiden reboot games, so imagine how many patches we would have today if he still worked on Tecmo ?.

Soul Calibur IV

Fight Night Champions. I love realistic focused fighting games, but the UFC/Pride/K-1 games always have some issues in one way or another, but the Fight Night games pull it off. With every game, they adjusted their old gameplay and added something useful, and the latest iteration of the boxing gameplay in Fight Night Champions is a beautiful thing.

I think that, as far as creative effort goes, Darkstalkers is the greatest thing Capcom ever put out. That and, well, Lilith is absurdly cute.
It's a shame they're not willing to do anything with the series.
True. They wanted to make a fighting game based on monsters from classical tales but Universal Pictures (who holds the rights) said no and Capcom said fck it we will do our own. Even though you can see the influences, the amount of creative freedom they took with the characters gives them their own unique identity.

It seems Capcom is slowly returning their old franchises from dormancy so we may see a new Darkstalkers in the future. Who knows!

New Darkstalkers?
We could only Hope. When was the Last one? 1997?
Vampire Savior i think was the Last game, in the Main Series.

As for my all time Favorite Fighter?
Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha

Always felt like fighting games lack side content and stuff to keep the casuals playing which is why Smash reigns over all of them in sales. There's so many collectibles and side modes to do in Smash that I was kinda surprised that it wasn't the norm
Fighters are competitive multiplayer games, that's the main appeal

I wouldn't trust modern Capcom to make an actual sequel to Vampire Saviour

Also, do any of you guys use Fightcade?

For me is a close tie between Blazblue Central Fiction and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core. But is purely because of the memories i have with my cousin playing those game everytime there was a family reunion :3
