street fighter 3, specifically third strike, is always probably gonna be my fav. i used to think i was a street fighter fan but after thinking about it for a while i don't think that's true. i think im just a third strike fan. i dunno, it's got so many weird and unique characters in it, Q of course is my favorite but Necro is a CLOSE second. Twelve, despite their lack of viability, is still a really interesting design, and then you've got all the new guys on top of that. i'll be honest, i've never been that big on any of the SF2 cast, so it does nothing for me when they get brought back in later games. the third strike cast, on the other hand, has so much variety and life that i absolutely love.

i used to be a really big accent core fan, but honestly it just doesn't do it for me anymore. that game is HARD, man... i do really like watching it be played, at least, and it's still the only place i can get my Robo Ky fix.

Lately, Mortal Kombat 11. The krypt is amazing. The roster is near perfect. And the towers of time are fun to compete in for prizes. Theres just alot of good PVE stuff that you can do, of course youre still fighting the cpu, but the rewards motivate you to continue.

Tekken 3, hands down. Also, although I absolutely suck at them, Street Fighter arcade games, plus all the spin-offs and crossovers with capcom / marvel / kof. The Aesthetic of the sprites was always super cool to me as a kid.

Alex main here, I totally get 3rd Strike not needing the old roster. They were just trying to expand the universe and character base. Waiting on Alex being announced for SFVI but I can't see it happening. I loved stomping people with him in 5.

I'd put Third Strike or Garou on top of gameplay, but I vibe with Last Blade 2 the most

The art, the music, the backgrounds. It put me on a lifelong love affair with samurai media. I love this game so much, it made me take Kendo classes in college.

Dead or Alive 3 was pretty much the only fighting game I grew up with that made me want to get good and not just spam buttons until the guy in front of me died.
I didn't actually get good but still, I would call it my favorite.

Honorable mentions to Soul Blade and Tekken 3, as I love extra modes beyond Arcade/Time Attack/Survival in fighting games. Really good games with Edge Master or Tekken Ball/Force? Yes, more, please.

Darkstalkers/Vampire Saviors. Morrigan forever ?
I think that, as far as creative effort goes, Darkstalkers is the greatest thing Capcom ever put out. That and, well, Lilith is absurdly cute.
It's a shame they're not willing to do anything with the series.

launch party erryday!

I'm a big Marvel 2 fan, and SG basically takes everything I love about Marvel 2 but gives me a roster of characters actually worth playing! I played in locals when it released but these days I just have a few sparring buddies online and we usually play a few games each month or so.

Dead or Alive Dimensions for 3ds.
I also got DOA5 for Vita, but I kept going back to the 3ds title.

I tried Tekken on PSP but didn't like very much the characters appearance -and no, for me DOA it's not all about the "busty babes", like Issun says in Okami :D I like most of the characters and though I'm not really really good in doing combos, I find the gameplay very "fluid" (not sure how to describe it better, but with Tekken I had the impressions of a more clunky gameplay).

On second place I put "Soul Calibur 3" for PS2, I played it a lot, I remember I did all the quest with a custom character, I think? And of course the various characters routes.

I would say the DOA franchise, they are really fun games and is a shame that the old games are trapped on Xbox.

Others fighting fighting games I play a lot are: Bloody Roar 2, Under Night, Blazblue, Guilty Gear, Soul Calibur, Melty Blood, Tekken, Killer Instinct, Arcana Hearts, Virtua fighter, Skullgirls, Street fighter and MK (specially the PS2 ones)

Favorite fighting game? Hard to say, probably Blazblue for all the content. Always felt like fighting games lack side content and stuff to keep the casuals playing which is why Smash reigns over all of them in sales. There's so many collectibles and side modes to do in Smash that I was kinda surprised that it wasn't the norm. Blazblue has a lot of that I hear, though I haven't gotten to buying it...YET

Favorite fighting game that I've actually played (without emulation) by process of elimination is Smash because of that side content that kept me playing for years. I bought Guilty Gear and Skullgirls but there isn't enough to keep me playing, I'll get distracted by other games if there's only playing story mode and online to look forward to.

And an underrated fighting game? Second Impact. the failure of New Generation and the success of Third Strike overshadows it HARD. Has the best roster and music of Street Fighter 3 and i'll even argue in the franchise.

The Touhou fighting games are also kinda slept on, great art and music but air fighters are so rare and none of them have rollback. Variable Geo recently got picked up for Saturn tribute and it has real potential for a franchise if they ditch the nsfw of the PC 98 games but keep the characters, story, and music. Also I am watching Asuka 120's career with great interest.

I'll play Uni 2 one day, I swear
also bring back Darkstalkers Capcom PLEASE
